Serving everything from Drunken Noodles to Spicy Tuna Rolls, RICE creates authentic Asian fare and Sushi at affordable prices. RICE also offers a specialty craft cocktails, an extensive beer menu and a handful of quality sourced wines. We have lots of gluten free and vegan options to choose from. We visited Rice Spice for the first time based on the recommendation of a family member. Pros: The food was excellent. It was well prepared, healthy, and appropriately portioned. Negatives: Just about everything else. The restaurant is poorly decorated, the music is odd and too loud, and the service staff leaves much to be desired. On the night of our visit, the staff was overwhelmed with takeout orders. It was 45 mins before receiving appetizers, and some members of our party didn’t even receive appetizers due to running out of ingredients. Some orders also arrived incorrectly. We stayed while several other parties left, but it was more than a 90 minute span until dinner was completed. The manager apologized and comped 20% of our bill, but it was still quite a negative first impression. It’s a shame that a place with such wonderful food is so poorly executed.

My go-to restaurant in Mystic. Massaman Curry is the best I’ve ever had. Huge selection of rice bowls, noodles and now even sushi. I order the summer rolls as an appetizer every time.

I am a Mystic resident & my son came home from college today. He asked for “Rice Spice”. We both ordered Pad Thai, which we have enjoyed for many years. My order contained 1 shrimp, 3 small pieces of chicken and 10 bamboo shoots. The rest of the container was filled with uncharacteristically, wide noodles, obviously to fill the container. This “dinner” cost $12.00. I am very sad. I always felt like we received a healthy dinner from Rice Spice & Noodle, but tonight proved me wrong. It was nothing but a “rip-off”. I tried to call & speak to the manager but was denied. I live in Mystic & will spread the word….”Stay away”. You should have put some food in my container…you should have taken my call. You won’t be in business very long with this type of service.
