January 24th, the wife wanted a burger so we stopped after 4pm to find an empty bar and a limited “deep fried menu” until 5pm so the wife had a pork “T” (I should have had one too) and I got the kickin chicken which was ok (not a breast but pressed). Fries were awesome and so was the blueberry cheesecake and coconut cream pie. So for a complete menu including the burgers come after 5pm and by the time we left the place was filling up

*Decent food that does the job.*
We stopped at Rhody’s while spending the day in Dubuque with our kids. We enjoy checking out locally owned places and this place seemed perfect. My daughter’s BLY was great! My burger was pretty good.
Despite the waitresses being very sweet, it was a busy Friday night, and that was evident by the spotty service we received. I ordered waffle fries but received regular French fries, and at one point we tried to flag down someone for some ketchup and finally after trying for almost ten minutes my husband walked up to the serving area to get it.
The food was decent and I think we would have had a great experience if it had not been so busy or if they had one more wait staff working.
I say give it a try if you’re in Dubuque, but be cautious if it looks busy!

So, we have a tendency to look for those places that have great food and a good vibe. Well, we weren’t disappointed. Just reading the menu was mouthwatering. So off we went with a hunger for good food and a place that felt comfortable.
Rhody’s is all about it. We enjoyed the Saturday Night Special. The full rack of ribs, coleslaw, and garlic mashed potatoes. This was after a trip to the salad bar for a nice selection of greens and salads like 3-bean, pea, macaroni, and potato. And a beef and egg noodle soup.
The whole dinner was so good. The dessert options were a bit limited as they had ran out of certain pies. None the less we went with a cherry crumble with whipped cream. It was so delicious. The whipped cream was freshly made.
The service was excellent. Tasha and our servers were friendly and prompt with our drinks and helpful with our selection.
The atmosphere is nice and casual.
Overall, it was nice to see that you can find places like this.

Melissa was our server and daughter to the nice lady who owns this place. And she was fabulous. She also makes all of the pies. Which caught me off guard cause they were so good you would think only a sweet old lady could make something that good. I’m a big fan of Rhodys. Possibly gunna be my next tattoo! 😉

Really tasty food – ribs were melt-in-your-mouth tender and the stir fry was excellent – good service. Lettuce in the salad bar wasn’t the freshest. Chocolate cream pie was eye-rolling yummy!

Ordered the fish sandwich special, waitress told me that it would be cod. When it came, it was literally just a cooked from frozen square fish patty that I could get at McDonald’s, but with nothing else on it! Just fish patty, bun and a packet of tarter sauce. Quite disappointing, it was at least cooked ok which is the only reason I gave two stars. Waitress never asked how things were at the end. Largely disappointed with the food.

We recently rented the back room for our anniversary party. Food was fantastic and the staff and service you won’t find better elsewhere.
All of our guests were so impressed, loved the food, and how attentive the staff was.
