If you know of this place and have checked it out you already know this bbq joint is probably the best bbq you can get in the area. I’ve never been here before but last friday I ordered their ribs since I haven’t had some nice ribs in a while and was blown away. Super casual and very friendly staff! The mac n cheese also is pretty good. I didn’t like the cole slaw too much but now we’re nitpicking vegetables at a bbq joint haha.
10/10 ribs

I stopped at Rhodies BBQ today, and the experience was fantastic. The food was incredibly flavorful, and the staff was exceptionally friendly and accommodating. I was curious about why they pull the brisket instead of slicing it, and they were happy to slice it for me upon request.

Typically, I’ve seen fresh brisket sliced and then chopped the next day with sauce and chilies, but not fresh brisket pulled. After tasting it, I can understand their choice—this brisket is slightly leaner than the classic Texas style. However, it still held its own when sliced. The fat was perfectly rendered, the meat was tender, and the smoke ring was just right. The bark on the brisket added an incredible depth of flavor.

The sides were some of the best I’ve ever had. The mac n’ cheese, with its bold kick from the chiles, was outstanding. The beans were rich and flavorful, and both the biscuit and the bacon-flavored potato salad were excellent. The sauces leaned more toward Carolina/molasses-style, but the “hooch” sauce stood out—it was intensely spicy and vinegar-forward, which I loved since I’m partial to Georgia-style BBQ sauces.

Overall, Rhodies BBQ exceeded my expectations with its exceptional value, outstanding flavors, and flawless execution of traditional smoking techniques. Even by Texas standards, I would consider this excellent barbecue. My wife’s pulled pork was also fantastic, rounding out an unforgettable meal. Thank you for bringing a taste of Texas to my plate!

I liked my brisket sandwich even though it was almost to spicy to eat . The bun was fresh and the meat was good. I was given three choices but it is all subjective what is spicy, what is extra spicy. The Mac and cheese was a little watery. My problem here is when I say I want my food to eat here not to go and you carry the sandwich out in your hand with the Mac and cheese container. If a plate is to much to ask at least put the food on a tray . $26.00 for a sandwich and one small side should at least deserve a tray.
Maybe have samples of the sauce or let the customer put the sauce on at the table. My impression is you are just not trying. I eat very often. I eat Thai food in Thailand so I understand degrees of spiciness.

The brisket was really good. I could have used a little more smoke flavor but it was delicious. The pepper jack mac and cheese are top notch. A little disappointed they were out of ribs and chicken so I missed out on try that.

We were just there on October 25, 2025 three of us had the barbecue ribs with the smoked chicken and the jalapeño macaroni and cheese with an excellent homestyle southern Stew that was loaded with all sorts of meats and excellent flavor.
I love smoked foods. In fact, I smoke my own ribs, but I’ve gotta say these ribs were better than mine. They literally just melted in your mouth. I talked the owner-Who is a super friendly person by the way. He’s got a very nice smoker that is state of the art and uses hickory.
He said he smokes the meats I think nine hours or maybe even 14 but it is really worth the money.
He also makes his own barbecue sauces, which are excellent. There’s mild spicy and extra spicy.
I forget the name of the southern barbecue style Stew but you’ve gotta try it. It’s incredible-He said he patterned it after barbecue places in South Carolina.
I highly recommend you stopping right off the freeway here in Preston across from the soccer fields because it’s excellent food. It supports a small business during these tough times but most of all it’s incredible barbecue.
They have big screen televisions in there. Also if you wanna watch a game or whatever while you’re sitting.

Great food and service in this little BBQ joint. Tried a brisket biscuit and a pulled pork plate with beans, potato salad, and mac & cheese.

Everything was great, but we agreed the brisket and beans were our favorites. The spicy sauce was delicious and not overly spicy.

We will definitely be back when in the area!

I wanted some BBQ for Labor Day weekend and stopped here after hitting the crag. It hit the spot! The food was bomb and the guy at the front was friendly and efficient. They quickly got my food out and let me fill my nalgene up for some much needed H2O. Thanks for the quality pork BBQ sandwich with coleslaw. It was like a taste of home. The inside was neat and clean.

Note that I took my food to go back to Seattle, so it will look a little less smooshed in real life.

The Trailboss sandwich with brisket with extra spicy sauce and a hot link (nailed it). Crispy toasted bread. Seriously good sandwich. Pair that up with pepper jack mac and cheese which was also great, and enough food that I will have a decent lunch tomorrow.

We will definitely be back.

Just moved to Seattle from Florida & have been on the hunt for good food. This spot did not disappoint. Food was amazing. I got the brisket with baked beans and potato salad. 10/10. I would definitely recommend.
