Small parking out back available. Street parking too. Not busy. The service was ok. Could have been more attentive. Food was decent for the price. Best part was the Cafe de olla and lentil soup. Alcohol available.

First time trying Albondigas! Growing up my Greek grandmother would make us meatball soup and this bowl of Albondigas here really reminded me of my grandmother’s meatball soup. So comforting, full of flavor, warm and soothing to the soul!

Delicious food with hand made tortillas! Got the Chile Relleno, was delicious and very generous amount of cheese. Flavors are on point and the hand made tortillas are delicious! Definitely coming back to try their other dishes.

UNESCO has recognized traditional Mexican cuisine as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity and the cuisine of Michoacán won Mexico this great distinction.

Michoacán was selected by Mexico to represent traditional cuisine – not Oaxaca or Puebla.

The best food in Michoacán is made by cooks in Tierra Caliente which is a region of Michoacán. This restaurant features food in the Tierra Caliente style!

I did not find our most famous dish Morisqueta here but I found Aporreado and Albondigas.

I ordered Albondigas which is a meatball soup. The meatballs are large and numerous and superbly condimented. They were incredibly delicious! The broth was slightly too salty and they do not use Yerba buena here which is spearmint. Still, I recommend the Albondigas! Regardless of the chayote squash. I don’t like it. It reminds me of being a kid and not wanting to eat it. Lol! You may enjoy it though! There’s also potatoes and carrots in the soup.

I took the Aporreado to go. It’s a red chile sauce with Serranos to spice it up. Here they make a Cecina “machaca” and cover it with the sauce. The Cecina is mixed into eggs. Cecina is a kind of jerky but it’s not smoked. It’s simply dried meat.

You get huge hand made tortillas with any dish!

Francisco is an incredibly well mannered server. So West Mexican in his etiquette!

You can eat inside or outside.

There’s free parking around the restaurant.

Ordered the birria on a Wednesday afternoon. It was okay but lacked flavor. The tortillas were fresh(?) but definitely hand made. Service was ok and I was the only one in the restaurant for a late lunch.

Molcajete was superb . Unfortunately, the Mole was too sweet for my taste buds. Corn tortillas was good as well. Ambiance not too cozy, seats were too outdated and tight legroom.

The chorizo was tasty and plentiful along with healthy portions of rice and beans l. The homemade corn tortillas was a treat and the apparently bottomless coffee was appreciated. Service was top-notch.

It’s ok, not that bad at all! My plate was menudo, it needed salt and had no flavor. I added 3 different types of chili to add flavor. My daughter’s plate was shrimp cocktail . She enjoyed it a lot but it needed just a bit of salt . My husband’s was a carne asada plate, the meat was delicious for him but the beans and rice were unsalted. My dad ordered birria and said that his plate was ok but the rice was cold. When we arrived at the restaurant, it was only one customer at that time and the customer service was poor since the waiter took a bit long to give us a few things like milk and cream for coffee. I give 3 starts due to the unflavored food in our dishes but we enjoyed it a bit. The other thing I noticed the restroom needs attention, cleaning in another words. Be prepared not expecting a clean restrooms

Ordered the carne asada burrito and added cheese and avocado. Burrito was bomb, came with red and green salsa that was also legit. They have a seating area inside, but I just got mine to go using chow now. Plenty of street parking to grab some food. I’ll be back!

The prices on the website is different then when you go in for starters and the burritos have no meat in it all I ordered a carna asada burrito and it was nothing but beans and rice a half a scoop of meat and it had no flavor I would not recommend this place at all especially if your African American which I felt played a big part in the portion I received
