No desayuno!
Looking for a Huevos Rancheros this morning at any Mexican restaurant we have not tried in Tulsa. Restaurante & Taqueria Doña Carmelita was on the list. Unfortunately, a strike out. We walked in when the doors opened at 10AM. The cooks were busy behind the counter preparing today’s lunch buffet line up. The food smelled magnificent and it looked as good…. But no breakfast is served.
A spacious restaurant, that can handle a crowd. The food is served up cafeteria style. There is a menu board that shows a few other options not available on the buffet. I don’t normally like buffet style Mexican restaurants because I don’t know what most of the items in the line up are. Everything looks so delicious here. It is worth a trip back for lunch. But I am looking for breakfast this morning.

This place is delicious and they are so extremely nice. We got the asada tacos and nachos. Amazing! Also gave us a sample of the fettuccine and it is some of the best ever! Go here, now…don’t wait!

The food selection is great buffet style. Hand made corn tortillas. Food tasted fresh. Friendly staff. Best time to go is lunch Sunday at noon place is busy but that also means better rotation of food.

Wow! Where to begin? I ordered a chicken wet burrito ($10) which came with sour cream and guac. the burrito stuffed with chicken, rice and beans, and if that wasn’t enough they gave more on the side. All of it delicious, especially the chicken which I thought was perfectly cooked and tender.
Also I ordered a plate of loaded fries ($8) which came with a generous serving of fries topped with queso, steak, and pico with a side of what I think was ranch. I didn’t need that though, omg the queso was addicting and all I needed to demolish that plate. The steak was seared and juicy, and thinking about it makes me want more again.
They have soft drinks on tap and jarritos, I got 2 pineapple jarritos ($2/each) to wash it down with. Seeing such low reviews on this made me question whether to try it, but tasting is believing. I will definitely be returning for more.
