Friendly Attentive Servers!! Dining room spacious and quiet. Food was 100% Salsas so fresh and so good!
The corn tortillas were fluffy and super soft! The pancakes were spongey and thick but not heavy at all!! Best food we have had in Mcallen area!! Definitely going to be back!

11/1/23 12:40pm Small spot in downtown McAllen. We spent about $35 on the meals shown in the pictures and some lemonades. The food was delicious.. husband and I ate everything. There were only two available tables when we got there but no crazy wait for the food and the waitress was very nice. Music was playing but when sat at the table closest to the kitchen we heard the old school Mexican music. A lady that reminded me of my mom peeped out the kitchen door and with the Mexican music coming from there it just reminded of when I was little… Will definitely stop by again.

Do not sleep on this restaurant. It may be small, unassuming and unglamorous, but everything we had was amazing. It’s like someone’s mom is in the kitchen cooking up homemade food.
We had the choriqueso which was gooey and had just enough chorizo that didn’t leave a pool of grease behind like so many others do.
My boyfriend ordered the asado de puerco and loved it. It’s a bit on the spicier side, but only if you’re not used to eating spicy food.
I had the picadillo plate. It wasn’t too soupy and had just the right blend of spices that made it taste like it was made just for you, not in a huge batch.
Definitely do yourself a favor and order the maíz tortillas. They’re handmade, a little thick and piping hot.
This is one of those places you shouldn’t judge by its storefront. It looks like a typical restaurant that serves average food. Inside the place is impeccable and, yes, that includes the restrooms.
Prices are fair and service staff is courteous and attentive. Can’t say enough. You’ll just have to try it for yourself.

The breakfast here was okay, I ordered the huevos rancheros and for $4.99 you get, 2 eggs, refried beans and potatoes the bacon was $1.25 extra.
The eggs were perfectly cooked over medium, the salsa for the eggs was very interesting it tasted good but it had a strong black pepper flavor, the refried beans were good, the potatoes were very bland barely warm I would have preferred if they were crispy and hot and the bacon was pretty tasty.
Overall I think their breakfast options are good and affordable but the huevos rancheros could use some improvements that like a fried corn tortilla under the eggs, also the place looks a bit bland inside, there are many handcrafts from Mexico including Michoacán to make this place more lively.

I went today i got the caldo de res after craving it when It came it had a unpleasant smell and tasted horrible couldn’t put my finger on that taste ate a bit then ended up just paying and leaving still hungry as soon as I stepped inside it smelt like the rr but I stayed just to see if the food was decent but was unhappy the service was good tho the food and smells were unpleasant
