Lamb Gnocchi is melt in your mouth bliss. I’m sure a lot of other things are amazing on this menu, but please look past the go-to’s of shrimp & grits and steak and try this dish! You will not regret it.

We haven’t eaten here in a long time, but I’m glad we went! The food was just magnificent! We had Mississippi catfish egg rolls, oysters, and corvina. We finished it off with a chocolate martini and the most AMAZING stuffed pancakes for my mom’s birthday.

The ribeye was one of the best steaks we’ve ever had. My daughter had the Jumbalaya pasta the more she ate the better it tasted. The blackberry cobbler was so flavorful and the blackberries were large and sweet.
The BBQ Okra what a unique taste that was so good.

Restaurant Tyler has been an anchor for Downtown Starkville for years. Their modern twist on Southern cuisine creates a unique menu with some of your favorite Southern staples like fried chicken and catfish. Personally I love the blackened catfish. Be sure to try the BBQ okra appetizer! Their blue-plate lunch specials are great for a casual lunch, or you can visit during dinner for a fine dining experience. Sneak in a night cap at their sister restaurant, The Guest Room, a speakeasy bar in the adjacent alley!

Never had a bad meal here and the bartender was amazing when I dined in a few weeks ago. The Guest Room attached in the back is the hidden gem of Starkville – an incredible speakeasy atmosphere that would stand out even in a big city like NYC.

I have been here for a Sunday special brunch. The environment inside was good. It was pretty crowded, and we had to wait 15 minutes to get a table. They did not give us enough attention; and the reason could be, we were the underdressed one compared to the crowd ! ( well, that’s my personal thought), or we were the only international ! ( who knows!). We ordered chicken meat loaf and southern omelette. Both were pretty mediocre. The cheesy grit ( one of the sides) was good though. The orange juice was not freshly squeezed one. The coffee was good, but there was no cream and sugar on the table. I had to ask for it. However, they forgot to provide a stirrer. The waiter girl was sweet and tried her best, however the over all experience was not up to the mark compared to their upscale reputation.

Fried catfish battered and slathered with a creamy sauce loaded with crawfish is an excellent dish. It’s a large plate and could feed two. Grilled mahi with brussel sprouts was ok, but the catfish is the dish to have if you are here. If you want dessert have the king cake but pass on the bread pudding, which seemed a bit rubbery in texture. Service was very good. Fast and efficient.

Heard a good brunch could be had at restaurant Tyler but did not expect the decadent food reminiscent of New Orleans. Our server recommended the river biscuit with extra sauce. It was amazing! The tomato gorgonzola soup was both substantial and delicious.

We had some business to handle in Starkville today and wanted to try some place we have never tried before who would hopefully serve some good comfort food……this place was IT!!! Our server Bailey was super friendly and very helpful when she took our order. The food was finger licking good. I had the fried chicken with the crawfish sauce on the side. I don’t know what is in that crawfish sauce but OMG it just adds something extra to the chicken. The mac and cheese was awesome too. Its hard to find good mac and cheese from a restaurant. Also their green bean casserole tasted like my stepmom would make (don’t tell her i said that). The tartar sauce had to be homemade because you could eat it by itself. Bottom line: we will be back and if you have not tried them, you need to.
