Wonderful spot to get the traditional Lobster meal in Puerto Nuevo! We were on a tour/ cruise excursion and this is where they brought us for lunch. I used to come to Puerto Nuevo ALL the time in the 80’s/90’s and we did the lobster meal and this meal took me back in time. Service was GREAT, the restaurant clean and welcoming. The food was good from the chips/salsa to the lobster and the rice/beans/tortillas in between. Truly enjoyable!

We visited here as part of a cruise ship excursion so the place was overcrowded but the staff still did a good job handling the crowd. They specialize in fried lobster and while I am not a big seafood fan it was pretty good. I am sure that the experience would be much better for regular customer able to access the entire menu. If I was back in Puerto Nuevo I would definitely give this place another try.

This was one of the highlights of our vacation when we stopped at this little hole in the wall restaurant. I just couldn’t believe how accommodating and friendly the staff treated us. The food was over the top I just couldn’t believe the size of the lobster’s tails they were huge, cook to perfection. Thank you Puerto Nuevo II.

I live 10 minutes north and I have never seen the place open in the past 10 years. This past week, my uncle was on a cruise and took an excursion to rosarito and Puerto Nueve from the dock in Ensenada. The tour bus was headed to the restaurant from rosarito and I asked if I could follow in my vehicle and eat lunch with my uncle. They said that was fine, and they would give me the same price pack as the tour which they said was 23usd. Everyone was served 3 sizable fried lobsters and margaritas and sides. I had regular coke instead of alcohol and when I got my plate, it was only 2 very tiny lobsters that were a weird brown color, not orange or red like everyone else’s. I then got a bill for 780 pesos, which is a lot more than 23usd. I said something about it and was told it was the Coca-Cola I ordered. Apparently the booze was free but canned soft drinks were nearly 20 bucks. The lobster was barely edible, although everyone else’s looked ok. This place doesn’t operate like ortegas or el guero, they only open up for these tour groups and they don’t even seem to stock any food on site. They bring it in as-needed for these poor tour groups. Don’t waste your time here. If you are on a vacation excursion, unfortunately you are missing out on some world-class lobster from the good restaurants down by the waterfront.

Had a wonderful time here. Not sure if there is a difference between No1 And No2, but there was no wait, the staff were attentive and informative, and the food was excellent.
Lobsters we’re great, but the rice beans and tortillas are incredible!

Very friendly and attentive staff. Had the grilled octopus as a starter and the lobster ranchero style. Delicious! If you are a couple, you can split the meal as they are generous portions. Nice atmosphere and they don’t hassle you like the other restaurants closer to the water. You will even most likely have a mariachi band come in and serenade the crowd!

On this particular visit to the town of Puerto Nuevo, the whole pueblo was packed. There was no parking available and all of the Ortega Restaurants had unbelievable lines. So, I went to Restaurant Puerto Nuevo and I got a table in about 5 minutes. The customer service: excellent. The food: every bit as good as Ortegas. The price: 3 lobster halves, rice, beans, homemade flour tortillas, chips & salsa and a Tecate beer for the equivalent of $26 U.S. Dollars. I was very happy.

We really enjoyed our experience at Restaurante Puerto Nuevo. The service was very professional and throughout the meal very attentive. We ordered a few starters but recommend to keep the chip eating and starters to a minimum. This restaurant is known for its lobster burritos, which are delicious but fill you up! The tortillas are massive (see photo)! So I used half of the tortilla to create the burrito and it was more than sufficient. I made my burrito with half a tortilla, some refried beans, a large spoonful of rice and 1/2 of a lobster tail. The lobster was very fresh and very inexpensive. I was so full after 2, 1/2 tortilla burritos that I could not indulge in the dessert: pastel de tres leches and flan for the table. But thwy looked tasty. Great meal, great service and great ambiance!

They give you free chips and salsa. The lobster they sell on threes salad or lobster soup, comes with sides: rice, beans, tortillas. The soup was alright. The lobster was delicious.
