Lovely setting as ever. My husband’s fish soup was very nice as were my husband’s mussells. Once I detached my oysters from the shell they were very small, perhaps half a teaspoon of oyster per shell I would say, which is not the normal No.3 size. Perhaps just unfortunate. My bass arrived dry and over cooked with sunken eyes, as though it had been reheated. This was later confirmed as on leaving I looked into the kitchen and there they were, ready cooked in a pile and covered with cling film. Timing and freshness is key to good fish cookery, not reheating. We go to fish restaurants to experience this but I feel that the method was for ease and I feel sad about it. I did not feel inclined to say anything on that evening because I did not want to spoil our evening. I did eat it all but that does not mean that I particularly enjoyed it.
