The portion is huge, easily enough for two, and the flavors are incredibly rich. It’s all about the tender meat, crispy skin, and generous sides like sauerkraut and the excellent mashed potatoes. The atmosphere is cozy and authentic, with exposed wood and stone walls, making it a must-visit for a hearty German meal.
The staff are very friendly, and the food was top notch. We wished we tried the pork knuckle but it was too big! The spatzle and the schnitzel was great!
The Dishes: Simple, Honest, and Hitting the Spot
The onion soup did its job. Warming, hearty, and perfectly fine for a chilly day. It won’t rewrite the rulebook, but it sets the stage nicely. The real star, though, was the Käsespätzle. Creamy, rich, and piled high, it’s the kind of dish that wraps you in comfort with every bite. No pretensions, just good, honest food done right.
The Vibe: A Cozy Retreat
The interior is where Palmbräu Gasse truly shines. Rustic wood, soft lighting, and an inviting, lived-in charm make it feel like a home away from home. It’s the sort of place where conversations flow easily and the ambiance encourages you to linger.
I ordered lendchenpfanne and enjoyed a lot! The lemonade was not as I expected but still good enough!
