Don’t let outside appearances fool you … Maybe sketchy looking on the outside, but delish on the inside. Great sushi, sashimi, soup and bento lunch boxes. Take a chance, order once and you’ll be back for more. Busy at lunchtime, so be prepared for a little wait.

Some of the best ramen I’ve ever had. The brother was unbelievable. We stopped here on a whim before heading to the airport, but it may have been one of my favorite meals of the trip!! Yummy town.

It’s a nice, family restaurant with good, savory food. The wood interior and seating is cozy, and you can easily take food to go with you if you want, the wait isn’t long at all. It’s very delicious too. We have came here a few times, and never too busy either.

Flew to Maui. Six hour flight. First place I came was Matsu. It’s hard to describe just how perfect this restaurant is. Absolutely without a single ounce of pretension. Putting out some of the best tempura and karaage around. Bento with tempura and simple sushi rolls was an absolute stunner. You’d be hard pressed to find better food anywhere in the world for $20.

Restaurant Matsu, is a converted house to a restaurant. It’s a local favorite in Kahului Maui. When you go there you order, pay, seat yourself. The food and the sushi are delicious we had ordered and enjoyed California Sushi, vegetable tempura udon. I also ordered the kimchi Ramen which was delicious until I found a piece of steel wool I love pot scrubber in my Ramen.
