It was a total disappointment. The service was extremely slow, and the owner was rude and almost confrontational. The tables around us also had to wait for a long time to take their order.
My friend used a Bongo voucher, and the first thing they told him on the phone was, “We don’t like Bongo customers.” If that’s how they feel, they should remove themselves from the website and stop wasting people’s time!
When we politely asked if my friend’s main dish could be replaced with a simple salad (since he only eats halal meat), the owner rudely said we were being “problematic.” He didn’t even have the respect to say it to me, he said it to my friend in Dutch, which was incredibly disrespectful.
The owner almost laughed and said they had “done us a favor by giving us a reservation on a Saturday” because they normally don’t take Bongo customers.
We waited over an hour just to get drinks and place our order, and the drinks are not included in the Bongo voucher… The portions were ridiculously small, not even enough for a child. We paid for a full dinner for two, but what we got was barely half of a normal portion. From the cold mezze, we each got less than a spoonful, it looked like decoration rather than food. It’s clear they divided one person’s menu into two and called it a “dinner for two.”
For the main course, the owner said he could still bring my friend’s plate (two tiny meatballs) so I could eat it instead, since it wasn’t halal. I told him that would mean my friend wouldn’t have any dinner at all, and politely asked to replace it with a salad, but he rudely refused, repeating it was a “fixed menu” (even raising his voice) and he wouldn’t change anything. Normally that dish comes with four meatballs potatoes and a salad (the cheapest from the menu) but I was only given two and a tiny bit of salad. He could have at least given that small salad to my friend so he could eat something, but he didn’t. Absolutely ridiculous!
My friend literally left without eating a main dish. That’s not just bad service, it feels like discrimination and complete disrespect. A completely scam.
If this is what they offer to Bongo customers, they should remove themselves from that website immediately. Disrespectful, rude, and totally unprofessional. Don’t waste your time or money here!
The appetisers were horrendous, we ordered the maze mandrake which was two plates of tiny appetisers that looked like they came out of a box or were frozen, and just thrown on the plate, tasted just ok and costed 17,5€.
The main dishes were ok, nothing special but also not bad, but for those prices the quality should have been much better. Very overpriced
We ordered the turkey from the weekly menu and their famous moussaka. Desserts were the greek yoghurt and pineapple tarte tatin.
Can only recommend this place!
(Also the christmas decorations were lovely)
