I know this review is late, but during our stay at La Mamounia in September, we dined at L’Italien after hearing that it was under the management of a new chef and team. To say that we had one of the most incredible Italian cuisine and experience overall, is an understatement. Not only is the ambience of the restaurant romantic and light, but the staff from our waiter to sommelier and to the chef himself were phenomenal. I’m talking about utmost attention to our every need and so knowledgeable in their recommendations. We opted for several appetizers, a pizza and two pasta dishes. Each dish had so much depth and a beautiful twist to the Italian flavors, which I find to be extremely difficult to nail. During dessert we also had the pleasure of meeting the chef himself who introduced himself to us. Overall, 20/10. We will definitely be back on our next trip to Marrakesh.

This Italian restaurant delivered a very good overall experience. The pasta was clearly fresh and tasted as if it had been made in-house, which stood out immediately. The pizza was also well prepared and satisfying. Service was excellent, the waiter was charming, attentive, and genuinely kind throughout the meal. The atmosphere was pleasant and comfortable, making it easy to relax and enjoy the food. A small but notable detail was the quality of the olive oil served, which was on point and complemented the dishes well. One amusing moment was being asked to sign a paper in order to take our leftovers home, which added an unexpected but funny touch to the visit. Overall, it was a positive and enjoyable dining experience.

Very well welcomed, the staff is so kind and friendly. The food is served in a good timing, everything tastes fresh and flavoury. The mocktail was really good! The portions are quite generous (especially the glace à la pistache et ses condiments). Nice experience overall!

Tried the new L’Italien par Simone Zanoni, what an experience!
Beautiful restaurant, delicious food and gentle, attentive service.
The appetizers, crudo, raviolis and pizzas were excellent and the mocktails a wonderful surprise. Don’t miss the pistachio ice cream at the end, it’s a must!
Big thanks to Antonio and Vincent for the warm welcome.
I will definitely be back.

Let’s first get the obvious out of the way: this place is expensive, so don’t go if you’re on a budget. But it’s worth every penny. The service is impeccable and the food is delicious. The pistachio icecream extravaganza alone is worth a trip back to Marrakesh! The dishes we savored all had a twist that gave them a distinct touch. Don’t miss the pumpkin soup or vittelo tonato for starters. The pasta is fresh and cooked to perfection. We didn’t try the pizza but saw it being served at adjacent tables and looked great. And of course, being set in one of the city’s finest hotels is a plus.

Service was of a high standard with friendly and knowledgable staff. The food was good. We dined here twice during our 5 night stay favouring the grilled octopus, seafood ravioli and truffle pizza out of all that we tried , but is it worth that price tag? Not in our view.

The food was just okay, but compared to New York, it was shockingly expensive—even pricier than Paris—and nothing about the experience justified the high cost. The portions were tiny, leaving much to be desired.
The service was also disappointing. The staff were overly attentive to the point of being intrusive, repeatedly coming to the table and even wiping it down while I was still seated. At one point, the server removed my placemat while I was still dining, which was quite rude and uncomfortable. Overall, the experience didn’t live up to expectations.
It was 100$ for a mini pizza and salad and chicken

Food and drink is very expensive for what it is but I guess you need to remember where it is. It’s definitely worth looking around the gardens before hand. You can have a drink in the bar too which was fantastic with great service.
We were able to order quickly. and our pizzas, which were ok but nothing special, came out quickly but we could not get anyone to take payment. After 3 attempts and a very long wait we had to walk to the front of the restaurant to be able to pay which was a disappointing end.

Tried their dim sum menu today. I have to admit that when I saw the dishes, I felt a little nervous since they did seem cooked in a different way from those in Asia and some dishes, like the three chili chicken, looked not that delicious. However, the taste of them is good. And for me, it is acceptable that one course is cooked in different ways in different countries. For the service, all staffs were so kind and polite, and their service are definitely excellent. Moreover, I tried the red wine from local, which is really typical and rich. What impressed me a lot is the smell of olive. Really interesting to try some local wine during the traveling.

I’m surprised to see any bad reviews, maybe that was before the relaunch/rebrand? I went in September 2025 and it was excellent! The atmosphere is really nice, the staff was very attentive, and the food was GREAT! I got lamp with roasted vegetables, and spaghetti. Given the quality of food and considering it’s in a very nice hotel, the price was totally reasonable I thought. Highly recommend!
