C’est au pied de la Tour de la Chaîne que se trouve cet ancien estaminet du XVIIIème siècle. Protégé par les tours et face au spectacle permanent du Vieux Port, le restaurant Les Flots est un endroit incontournable à La Rochelle, riche d’une histoire qui a commencé en 1945. Même si cet établissement a toujours fait partie du paysage rochelais, du bar bistrot qu’il était, il n’en reste qu’un vague souvenir… Le 17 Décembre 1997, Grégory Coutanceau prend la direction des lieux, c’est sa première affaire, il n’a que 22 ans et des rêves plein la tête, c’est le début de la grande histoire des Flots. Vous y dégusterez une cuisine de la mer confectionnée avec des produits de grande qualité, et cuisinés avec finesse et originalité.

A top notch fishy lunch. Impeccable service, good wine that was well priced and my GOD the flavours of the dishes!! Monkfish and sole for the two mains, the almond sauce with the monkfish was sublime. Bravo chef, bravo tous! We’ll be back for the next trip to La Rochelle. Bravo bravo bravo!!

Top notch dining experience yesterday. We had the Discovery menu – it was delicious. Tomato dish was highlight for my husband and monkfish main was superb. Lovely amuse-bouche as well. Service was perfect – attentive without intrusion and a good local wine recommendation. We would highly recommend this restaurant for a great dining experience for anyone visiting La Rochelle. Excellent dinner! We took the market menu and it was worth it! Everything was so tasty and yummy. The products are incredibly well selected, each bite is amazing. The cheese plate is also very nice. I strongly recommend this place for a nice/romantic dinner.
