Social Profile:

The seeds for Kavita were planted in between the busy chaos of Mumbai, the city that Chef Tushar calls home—and the quiet seaside town of Malvan. From eating delicacies sold by street vendors, to learning how to cook over a charcoal fire with his matriarchs, Tushar knew cooking was his passion. Kavita, meaning poetry, signifies not just a love for the delicate balance of flavours, but the wondrous ways that food plays such an integral role in memories. At Kavita, our cuisine is deeply rooted in the diverse regional flavors and traditional cooking techniques of India, thoughtfully combined with the finest local BC produce. We aim to showcase the rich cultural diversity of India and the many communities that make it unique, offering a

What an amazing modern Indian experience. The food was absolutely amazing and you can tell how much care was put into each individual dish.

Also, the staff were awesome as they came and told you stories about where the dishes were from and made sure that you were taken care of.

For anyone looking for an amazing Indian food experience, this is the place to go.

I loved it so much that I’m going to be bringing an event to them with a bunch of entrepreneurs because I believe everyone should have this amazing Indian food experience.

Definitely try it

Kavita is truly a gem. Tushar and his whole team take care of you from the moment you walk in the door. The food is innovative, fresh balanced and exciting. The cocktail program is exceptional and the flavors are bold yet balanced, which is a difficult feat to achieve. What they are doing at Kavita is magic.

I have been to Kavita a few times and have done both the à la carte and tasting Ammakase menus and would recommend both. Last week we dined at the chefs table for the Ammakase experience and were blown away. Every dish was a new experience in tastes and textures. Flavors that I grew up with presented in a fresh way. The best thing is that the menu is seasonal and changes frequently, so you have a new experience every time!

If you have not been to Kavita, put the restaurant on your list right away and trust me you will not be disappointed!

We came for the “Ammakase” experience which was took about 2.5 hours from start to finish. It was quite the experience we were very well taken care of by the various staff who all seemed knowledgeable when presenting the dishes. I found all the different dishes to be unique and quite flavourful. As someone who probably tends to eat more than the average person and for how long the experience lasts, I wish the portions were larger. They seem to have a very talented bartender since all the drinks we tried were very good and I would definitely recommend trying a few or sharing. Doing the ammakase experience is definitely going to be expensive (especially with drinks) but it was a nice way to treat someone to a special night. You even get a menu souvenir at the end.

Kavita feels modern and new, yet instantly familiar — a place built on genuine hospitality, teamwork, and a strong sense of community. From the moment you walk in, you’re immersed in warm, inviting aromas. The décor is stylish but cozy, and even on your first visit you’re welcomed like a regular who’s been coming every week for years.

Bar Manager Kabir takes you on a layered journey of flavor through his creative cocktails — each one thoughtfully constructed and beautifully balanced. GM and Sommelier Yash guides you toward one of his hand-selected wines, perfectly paired with Chef Tushar’s innovative menu.

You quickly realize you’re in good hands and can fully relax and enjoy the experience Kavita unfolds course by course.

Sitting at the bar with the open kitchen in full view feels like culinary theater — focused, detailed, and precise, yet calm and effortlessly in sync.

I wasn’t sure what to expect from fine dining Indian food, but as soon as I tried the first dish from the chef’s tasting course(Ammakase)—the amuse-bouche—I couldn’t wait for the next courses. I enjoyed 7 out of 8 courses (10/11 items in total) and 4 out of the 5 wines I tried. I can’t wait to go back and try dishes from their à la carte menu. The price is very reasonable for the quality of the food and service.
24 hour notice required for the chef’s tasting course.
Only missing a picture of kokum sorbet from the course.

Amazing amazing experience!

Everything from the host showing us in, to the chef personally coming to our table and welcoming us, to our own servers.

Food was absolutely delicious, authentic, flavours were tremendous and every bite was exceptional.

The ambiance was perfect with a nice mix of music, wasn’t too loud or busy and enough room and seating to move around.

Overall dining experience was exceptional, we will definitely be coming back.

It’s rare to walk into a restaurant and feel like you’ve stumbled upon something truly special — a place where food isn’t just cooked, but crafted with emotion. Restaurant Kavita, a newly opened gem in Vancouver, gave us exactly that feeling.

We began our meal with Cheese Garlic Naan, warm, fluffy, and addictive — the kind of bread that demands to be savoured slowly. The Jumbo Prawn Recheado was a burst of coastal magic — spicy, tangy, and perfectly balanced — while the Goat Kebab Morels carried layers of smoky tenderness that lingered long after each bite.

For the mains, the Chicken Bhujing was a revelation — every bite spoke of tradition and passion, with flavours that felt rooted yet refined. The Mangalorean Sable Fish Curry with Heirloom Rice was pure comfort — silky, fragrant, and soul-deep delicious. It transported us straight to the Konkan coast.

And just when we thought it couldn’t get better, the Sandesh arrived — delicate, nostalgic, and the perfect sweet whisper to end a meal that was anything but ordinary.

Kavita isn’t just a restaurant — it’s a story of heritage, artistry, and heart told through food. Every dish feels personal, every flavour intentional. Vancouver, you’re lucky to have this one. Kudos Chef Tushar, Yash and the entire team of Kavita.

An outstanding representation of Indian cuisine and one of the most refreshing dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. You can genuinely taste the passion behind every dish, the balance of spice, texture, and aroma feels deeply intentional yet effortless. The presentation is refined without being pretentious, and each plate tells a story that’s both nostalgic and new. It’s Indian food elevated with finesse and care, yet rooted in authenticity. Kavita manages to celebrate tradition while reimagining it beautifully. An absolute gem that deserves all the praise it gets.

One of the best new restaurants of 2025! We tried the Garlic Naan, Mangalorean Chicken, Sablefish Curry, and Bombay Vada Usal and all of the dishes had very beautiful presentation and unique taste. We will definitely come back soon in the future and hope they could do brunch one day!

Most well executed and delicious Morden Indian cuisine in Van. Chef stayed true to the regional Indian flavours but used some fantastic culinary techniques- the fish curry for examples was reimagined as a steamed rolled fished that melts in your mouth with a curry sauce that was soo velvety and foaming creates using a canister. Other fav was the duck ghee roast

The non alc drinks were delicious can only imagine how amazing the cocktails could be.
