The seeds for Kavita were planted in between the busy chaos of Mumbai, the city that Chef Tushar calls home—and the quiet seaside town of Malvan. From eating delicacies sold by street vendors, to learning how to cook over a charcoal fire with his matriarchs, Tushar knew cooking was his passion. Kavita, meaning poetry, signifies not just a love for the delicate balance of flavours, but the wondrous ways that food plays such an integral role in memories. At Kavita, our cuisine is deeply rooted in the diverse regional flavors and traditional cooking techniques of India, thoughtfully combined with the finest local BC produce. We aim to showcase the rich cultural diversity of India and the many communities that make it unique, offering a

Also, the staff were awesome as they came and told you stories about where the dishes were from and made sure that you were taken care of.
For anyone looking for an amazing Indian food experience, this is the place to go.
I loved it so much that I’m going to be bringing an event to them with a bunch of entrepreneurs because I believe everyone should have this amazing Indian food experience.
Definitely try it
I have been to Kavita a few times and have done both the à la carte and tasting Ammakase menus and would recommend both. Last week we dined at the chefs table for the Ammakase experience and were blown away. Every dish was a new experience in tastes and textures. Flavors that I grew up with presented in a fresh way. The best thing is that the menu is seasonal and changes frequently, so you have a new experience every time!
If you have not been to Kavita, put the restaurant on your list right away and trust me you will not be disappointed!
Bar Manager Kabir takes you on a layered journey of flavor through his creative cocktails — each one thoughtfully constructed and beautifully balanced. GM and Sommelier Yash guides you toward one of his hand-selected wines, perfectly paired with Chef Tushar’s innovative menu.
You quickly realize you’re in good hands and can fully relax and enjoy the experience Kavita unfolds course by course.
Sitting at the bar with the open kitchen in full view feels like culinary theater — focused, detailed, and precise, yet calm and effortlessly in sync.
24 hour notice required for the chef’s tasting course.
Only missing a picture of kokum sorbet from the course.
Everything from the host showing us in, to the chef personally coming to our table and welcoming us, to our own servers.
Food was absolutely delicious, authentic, flavours were tremendous and every bite was exceptional.
The ambiance was perfect with a nice mix of music, wasn’t too loud or busy and enough room and seating to move around.
Overall dining experience was exceptional, we will definitely be coming back.
We began our meal with Cheese Garlic Naan, warm, fluffy, and addictive — the kind of bread that demands to be savoured slowly. The Jumbo Prawn Recheado was a burst of coastal magic — spicy, tangy, and perfectly balanced — while the Goat Kebab Morels carried layers of smoky tenderness that lingered long after each bite.
For the mains, the Chicken Bhujing was a revelation — every bite spoke of tradition and passion, with flavours that felt rooted yet refined. The Mangalorean Sable Fish Curry with Heirloom Rice was pure comfort — silky, fragrant, and soul-deep delicious. It transported us straight to the Konkan coast.
And just when we thought it couldn’t get better, the Sandesh arrived — delicate, nostalgic, and the perfect sweet whisper to end a meal that was anything but ordinary.
Kavita isn’t just a restaurant — it’s a story of heritage, artistry, and heart told through food. Every dish feels personal, every flavour intentional. Vancouver, you’re lucky to have this one. Kudos Chef Tushar, Yash and the entire team of Kavita.
The non alc drinks were delicious can only imagine how amazing the cocktails could be.
