The service was polite, but clearly overwhelmed. We ordered spring rolls as an appetizer and instead received grilled beef brochettes. When we mentioned the mix-up, there was no real acknowledgment—just a look of stress, and the spring rolls never came. On top of that, my mother-in-law’s shrimp pho didn’t arrive with the rest of our meals and only showed up after we flagged the server down midway through eating. No one checked on us throughout the meal.
The food itself had good flavour, and the ingredients tasted fresh. But the portions were noticeably smaller than what you’d typically expect at a pho restaurant. If you’re hoping for one of those massive, soul-warming bowls, this won’t quite scratch that itch.
Maybe the lack of nearby competition will give this place a boost, but it’s not a spot we’d go out of our way for again. I won’t be crossing the bridge for a second visit.
the decor of the restaurant is absolutely beautiful. It features a modern design that is both stylish and inviting.
However, the service is meh… While there was a middle-aged lady server who was very sweet, her attentiveness was lacking, which contributed to a slower dining experience. Unfortunately, this was contrasted by the male server, who came across as rude and seemed unsure of what he was doing, further detracting from the overall experience.
Now, onto the food: while it tasted similar to offerings at other I Am Pho locations, I found it to be a bit on the salty side. Additionally, the portion sizes were surprisingly small compared to what I’ve enjoyed at I Am Pho Brossard, leaving me feeling less satisfied after my meal.
improvements are needed in the service and portion sizes to enhance the overall dining experience. I hope they can address these issues soon, as the potential is certainly there!
Meanwhile I was looking at the cleanliness of the place and the table was wiped with some kind of dirty cloth not bothering to remove the objects off the table like sauces, napkins, etc before cleaning it. I noticed the shirasha and hoisin sauce bottles looking disgusted like I think they put new sauce on top of old one daily to fill them up, the bottles were halfway full smelling awful and old. Needless to say that since nobody was coming to serve me I walked out.
The pho was not for me personally, I may not enjoy cilantro or something specific in the broth. It tasted too much of just one element VERY strong.
Id be willing to try a different kind of bowl of pho and see if it’s the same situation.
The iced coffee tasted very much like the drinks in glass bottles you can buy at gas stations.
Chicken on rice plate didn’t have much meat.
Porc plate was lovely, had plenty of meat but it was thin. Still very delicious and had more in comparison.
Utensils are not very sanitary. You have to grab from a stack on your table and accidentally have no choice but to touch other forks to grab your own… meaning the next person will have a fork you touched to eat and so on… kind of gross
