Very nice experience dining here, while sitting in their outdoor, covered area, watching people walk by and listening to a guitarist playing classical and Spanish music! Wonderful!
We started with the area’s famous Skagen Toast, which is North Sea shrimps, mayonnaise, dill, sourdough bread. The shrimp salad really makes this good, and I like the sour dough bread instead of rye.
Next dish was the Tagliolini ai Gamberoni pasta with shrimps, tomatoes, white wine, garlic, chili. Oh my! So good! And the chili have it just the right amount of zing.
Last dish was the Moules Frites: line caught blue mussels, cream, white wine, onions, garlic, herbs, fries, aioli. Quite a large pot of mussels with a nice broth.
I encourage you to try this place. We enjoyed it a lot. My only warning is if you don’t like eating near people who smoke, choose you’re seat wisely.

Havfruen Seafood Restaurant in Nyhavn is a lovely place to enjoy seafood while taking in the beautiful harbour views. The location itself already sets the mood, especially if you enjoy dining by the water with a relaxed and classic atmosphere. It feels very much like a place you would visit while exploring Copenhagen.
We ordered the blue mussels and they were good, fresh and well prepared. That said, I have to admit that the Brussels version still holds the top spot for me. These were enjoyable, just not the kind that completely wow you. The lobster was okie, nicely cooked but did not stand out as much as I had hoped given the reputation and setting.
The highlight of the meal for me was the langoustines. They were really good, sweet and delicate, and clearly fresh. This was the dish I enjoyed the most and would happily order again. It showed that the kitchen does know how to let quality seafood shine when done right.
We also tried the ratatouille, which was not really for me. I think this comes down to personal preference as I have never been a big fan of ratatouille in general. It was well executed but just not something I gravitate towards.
Overall, Havfruen offers a pleasant seafood experience in a beautiful location. Some dishes shine more than others, but it is still a nice spot to enjoy a relaxed meal by Nyhavn, especially if you appreciate fresh seafood and good ambience.

The food we ordered are very good. We ordered 12 pieces oysters sampler for 500DKK which is a bit expensive but good. The mussels and shrimp were also good. Then the ribeye steak was surprisingly very good considering the restaurant is mainly seafood. Staff are accommodating.

Great location right by Nyhavn with a fantastic atmosphere. Since it was raining that day, we chose to sit inside, and the indoor vibe was also really nice.
The seafood platter wasn’t too impressive, but it looked great for photos. The shrimp pasta was surprisingly delicious and highly recommended!

Very delicious sea food, we absolutely enjoyed it. We had two sea food plates, 3-piece and 4-piece, everything was super tasty (herring, shrimp salad, chicken salad, chicken fillet, salmon, …), a bit of everything to try, and every bite was great. Plus the Christmas cocktails. They also have a high chair for the young ones, are baby friendly, and the staff is really friendly and welcoming.
