Chez d’Artagnan offers an authentic taste of Luxembourg’s culinary heritage wrapped in old-world charm. The restaurant’s vintage atmosphere creates a distinctive character that transports you to a bygone era, whether you love or simply tolerate this classic aesthetic, it undeniably adds soul to the dining experience.
This establishment provides a genuine culinary snapshot of Luxembourg and Moselle cuisine, proudly featuring traditional specialties including horse meat, for which it has earned an excellent reputation among discerning diners seeking authentic regional delicacies.
The staff strike the perfect balance of warmth and efficiency, providing kind, professional service throughout the meal.
The food quality is largely excellent. The escargots are absolutely good and tasty, and the meat dishes showcase the kitchen’s skill with traditional preparations.
My only minor observation concerns sauce presentation. While my champignon sauce was excellent in flavor, I would have appreciated the option to have it served on the side for more personal control over the dish.
Chez d’Artagnan successfully honors both tradition and place, combining atmospheric charm, attentive service, and authentic regional cuisine.
It is a worthwhile destination for those seeking a genuine taste of Luxembourg’s culinary heritage beyond ordinary restaurant experiences.

One of the best visiting a restaurant experiences for me. The service was very kind and attentive, very gentle in conversation in both French (mine is not the best) and English. Tried filet de cheval à sauce d’artagnan, which was perfectly cooked, beautiful and extremely tender. I’ve ate a lot of horse meat and I felt the quality here. Fries could’ve been thicker. Atmosphere is gorgeous, with paintings and a good window view. Tiramisu was one of the best too, devoured it in seconds. Absolutely worth a visit, and even a second. I wish to see an aged horse meat item in the future.

I really wanted to try to horse steak. D’Artagnan delivered on the quality. The steak is juicy, tender, and sweet – a delight. Love me some seabiscuit.
I am even all the more grateful for the owner kindly preparing the steak for pick up late at night for my girlfriend to pick up (I couldn’t make it due to a sports event), such a kind service!

Had been trying to go here a few times already, but was always full. This time I was lucky to get a table. Very friendly gentleman running the place. Speaks English very well. Food is delicious. Prices fair for what you get. I took the steak. It comes with a good bowl of fries and bit basic but very tasty side salad. The sauce absolutely finishes it off. Very tasty.

The food was delicious! We ordered the cheval steak and appreciated the waiter‘s honest suggestion to get the steak (more tasty) over the filet (more tender) even though it is cheaper. He suggested the tradition Artagnan sauce with onion and it was also so good. The steak came with fries and a salad. We opted to share the meal and they were so kind to split the meat for us when serving. We did have to pay an additional €3 for a second salad (we didn’t know until getting the bill) but it was worth it because the dressing was so good. The Rivaner wine was also very good and a great value. The only negative was the lack of options on the menu, but actually after we ordered what we did we were very happy and didn’t feel that we needed anything more. It was plenty for 2 people.

A safe place for horse steak in Luxembourg for years. You can choose between several sauces, with d’Artagnan and Athos being my favorites. The menu, small but fine, also has other dishes. As it is not too big, you should definitely reserve a table in advance. A must for horse meat lovers but also for people who want to try something different.
