TLDR No more lunch buffet, but the food absolutely delivers. Great curries, excellent biryani, friendly service, and fair prices.

Our group of six went to Hyderabad Stories in Cockeysville planning to dive into their lunch buffet, only to find out they no longer offer it. Since we were already there and hungry, we decided to stick around and order from the regular menu and honestly, it worked out just fine.

The space used to be San Sushi before the owner retired, and the interior layout is pretty much the same. It is simple and perfectly serviceable for small to medium groups. When we visited, we were actually the only occupied table, which made for a quiet and relaxed lunch.

Since there was no official buffet, we decided to make our own by ordering a half dozen dishes to share. We went with a variety of curries, multiple biryanis, butter chicken, samosas, and plenty of naan for the table.

Everything came out at a great pace and the service was very friendly and efficient throughout. The curries were the highlight for me. Some were dialed up with extra heat for the spice lovers at the table, while others were milder, but all of them were packed with flavor and tasted fresh. The biryanis were also excellent, with generous portions of both lamb and chicken. No skimping on the protein here.

Pricing was reasonable, and when we split the bill it came out to about what each of us would typically spend at an Indian lunch buffet anyway. Overall, even without the buffet option, Hyderabad Stories is a great Indian food choice in the area and definitely worth checking out if you are craving flavorful curries and solid biryani.

We got to check out this spot located in the middle of the business building this past weekend. To be honest, the name did not give off the Indian restaurant vibe and right underneath in a smaller font it says Indian cuisine. If my husband did not find this spot, I don’t think I would’ve noticed it. That said, I am very happy he did!!

The restaurant did stop their buffet as the owner said it was not a hit amongst the local customers. After ordering all we did though, we kind of made it our own buffet and the price was very reasonable! Each person averaged about $30 .

The biryani was so good and the rice was tender! The Apollo 65 fish appetizer was also delicious!! Very tender pieces of fish paired with a spicy coating was so flavorful! The egg noodle dish was also a table favorite! Honestly, you just can’t go wrong here! My friend also wanted a spicy sauce and the wonders wife made a save that looked scary but soooo delicious!!

I’m not an expert of Indian food but this place offer really great dishes. Their butter chicken is fantastic. It’s ranked no 1 among all the butter chicken I have tried. Their chicken biyani is also great. The waitress is very friendly and sweet, asking the chef to do a mild version butter chicken for us without asking. Our 1.5y son really likes it too. We will definitely come back again. Highly recommended!

Don’t know where to start! My partner and our 1.5 year old came here on Valentine’s Day. The food was amazing, full of spices/flavor. Our little enjoyed it just as much as we did. Everyone was very polite and welcoming. We will definitely be back soon.

Positives: Halal Hyderabadi restaurant in the area, good food, convenient and clean. Nice service, cordial and pleasant.
Negatives: moldy musty smell, they placed incense sticks that was help, the restaurant has an old feel. You are greeted by a Ganesha statue, which is off putting for Muslims. They should give some Hyderabadi touch to their decor, it is bland decor at this time

Hyderabad Stories is a newly opened restaurant in Cockeysville, and it’s quickly becoming a good choice for those who love authentic South Indian and Hyderabadi cuisine. We recently visited and had a fun time exploring their wide range of dishes.
We ordered multiple items including starters, entrées, a bread basket, drinks, and more. The starters were easily the highlight of the evening. The Karampodi Chicken was absolutely out of this world, flavourful, spicy, and cooked to perfection. Other appetizers like Chicken 65, Karampodi Paneer, Gobhi 75, and Chicken 555 were also very good. Each carried that authentic Indian taste that’s often hard to find in the U.S., and we truly enjoyed them. However, the entrées were quite disappointing. We tried Goat Chettinad, Gongura Chicken, and several biryanis (Hyderabad-style Spicy Chicken Biryani and Goat Biryani). Unfortunately, most of the main dishes were overly salty and lacked balance in flavor. The bread basket was also not up to par without butter, the breads quickly hardened and felt more like papad than fresh breads. Even the much-anticipated Hyderabadi-style biryani turned out too salty, which was surprising given the reputation of Hyderabadi cuisine.
On a positive note, the hospitality and service were excellent. Special credit goes to our waitress, who was extremely attentive, friendly, and made the experience enjoyable despite the food inconsistencies. If you’re looking for authentic Indian starters, Hyderabad Stories is definitely worth a visit. Their appetizers are flavorful, authentic, and truly shine. The entrées, however, need significant improvement in terms of taste and balance. With better execution on the mains, this place has the potential to become a go-to spot for Hyderabad cuisine in Baltimore.

Amazing food with a kick! We were with young kids trying Indian food for the first time, so we ordered “safer” options (butter chicken, chicken tandoori and chicken lollipop ) and they were so flavorful and had a teeny tiny kick to them still. My kids enjoyed the food and I’m excited to come back to order all the spicy versions.
