For our last meal in Vienna, we decided to dine at an Asian restaurant, and as we were in the city center, Cheng was an obvious choice.
The restaurant was nearly empty, and we were able to enjoy the serene atmosphere. The simple and elegant interior was nicely decorated with red Christmas balls.
The service was great – polite, attentive, and quick, but not rushing.
We ordered a vegetable soup with tofu (€4.90), wonton soup (€5.90), and fried noodles with vegetables (€12).
The toilet was super clean, and the tap design was fun!
The order arrived pretty quickly. The soups were hot and tasty, with crispy vegetables and very tender tofu. For my taste, the soup was a bit salty, but still delicious. The hot sauce on the table is really hot and a great addition to the soup. The noodles were good, except for the eggs – I don’t quite like them in fried noodles.
The bill was €22.80, and I rounded it up to €25.
Overall, it was a nice experience, and I would love to come back and try other dishes, especially the homemade dumplings.

I came here on a cold day and everything was like a warm hug. I had the hot and sour soup, fried dumplings with chicken, and the ginger tea. All were 10/10. The service was kind and attentive, they double checked allergies with me. The restaurant is clean, modern and beautiful.

Worst restaurant and food I’ve tasted in Vienna. Not only did the food taste bland and cheap, but they got our order wrong twice. Even the soy sauce on the table tasted old and outdated. The service is unfriendly and our food took ages to arrive. The menu also only consists of wok or soup dishes- no curries etc. are offered. So disappointing- will never go back.

Near St. Stephen’s Cathedral. Wide selection of food and drinks. Good quality – we ordered soups as well as meat and vegetarian main dishes. Friendly service. Reasonably priced given the location. Spacious. Interior decoration could be slightly improved in the entry area, looks somewhat provisional. That would give the 5th star to the “Atmosphere” score:)

We ordered the bok choy and fried chicken with garlic, and both dishes were delicious. The flavors were well-balanced and the portions were satisfying. We’ll definitely be coming back to try more items on the menu!

Well, i can’t figure out why the rating was high for this restaurant. But i guess patrons who visited this place did not have a good idea of how to benchmark it to a proper Chinese cuisine. The hot and sour soup was flat, and the wanton in the chilli vinegar oil had skin which was too thick to my liking. The noodles would have been great but then too much salt was placed in the meat, making it extremely salty and difficult to swallow. However, in absence of any great chinese food, this would do i guess.

Really really good and authentic Chinese food in the busiest part of Vienna. The whole restaurant is fresh out from decor, so neat and clean!

And the dishes are really good, very tasty and if you can’t eat too spicy, they are willing to help by adjusting when cooking!

Totally satisfied my craving for good Chinese food. The sour and spicy soup is a perfect balance of flavours and consistency. The fried rice is dried and tasty of a great portion! The duck is a bit dry but for any deep fried food, you’d just enjoy that crispy bit and the joy of a good meal. Super nice service too.
