On our first night in Interlaken, we were turned away by two fully booked restaurants. Tired and hungry, we decided to try Gleis 3 after seeing its strong Google reviews. It was a Friday at 7:30pm, yet the restaurant was surprisingly quiet, with mostly tourists dining there—ourselves included.
The staff kindly allowed us to order one portion of cheese fondue to share along with another main, which we appreciated. That said, they require one main per person and do not serve tap water.
We ordered:
• Cheese fondue with mushrooms (for one person) – the cheese was tasty, but the bread quality was disappointing as it kept breaking apart when dipped.
• Rösti with pork sausage – average.
• One glass of red wine – would give this a miss.
• One 500ml bottle of still water.
The total bill came to CHF72.80.
Overall, the service was good and the food was decent but overpriced. It is overrated in our opinion. The most surprising part was the 500ml bottle of water costing CHF6.80. Before arriving in Interlaken, we had visited St. Moritz, Chur, Zermatt, Täsch, and Lauterbrunnen, where restaurants provided tap water free of charge, so we’re unsure whether CHF6.80 for bottled water is standard practice here. Just something to be aware of when dining.

Delicious!! Beautifully plated food that combines savory spices with traditional Swiss dishes. Love love love! And the two gentlemen that run the restaurant are SO friendly. We had a great time dining here. Would definitely come back when we are in Interlaken again.

Local regular visitor. Food is fantastic, freshly cooked and well seasoned. As someone who apperciates local meat, this is a no brainer! Many places do use meat from other countries or even a different continent!
Staff is friendly and quick! It‘s a shame the place doesnt get the attention it deserves.
The positive about this, you can spend a cozy evening without it being to busy. So easy to sort out your thoughts and have a chill/quiet atmosphere.

I had fondue here and it was a really nice experience. The staff explained everything very well, which made it enjoyable even for a first-timer. The atmosphere was okay—cozy but the space is quite small. One thing to note is that they are very strict about ordering food per person, which might not suit everyone. Overall, the food and service were good, and it was a pleasant visit.

The most spectacular steak dinner I have ever had in my life. I have had endless steak meals in my lifetime and this is the best I’ve had. The dressing, seasonings and presentation of the entire meal was incredible. Flavors cleverly complimenting. This is not to mention the high quality of the service provided comparable to diamond rated service. I hope this restaurant grows and expands. Amazing meal.

A Must-Visit Gem in Interlaken!
If you’re in Interlaken and looking for an unforgettable dining experience, this restaurant is an absolute must. From the moment you walk in, you’re warmly welcomed by the incredibly kind owner, whose passion for food truly shines through in every detail.
The service is outstanding — attentive, friendly, and genuinely caring. You can tell that every dish is made with love and authenticity. The Swiss food here is nothing short of incredible, bursting with rich, traditional flavors and presented with stunning decoration on each plate.
Portions are generous — you definitely won’t leave hungry — and the attention to freshness is admirable. Yes, there may be a short wait, but you’re informed ahead of time, and it’s absolutely worth it. Everything is prepared fresh, and you can taste the difference.
Don’t miss the chocolate cake — it’s simply to die for. Rich, decadent, and the perfect way to end an already amazing meal.
This place is a true celebration of Swiss cuisine and hospitality. Highly recommended — a must-visit spot in Interlaken!

We had a nice experience here. We ordered the classic fondue which was 29 Chf per person (average price we’ve seen) and it was delicious. We were greeted and served by a very lovely waiter who taught us how to properly eat fondue. The atmosphere was cozy and warm but nothing special and we do wish the portion sizes were a bit bigger. Overall I would say if you are curious to try the fondue, this is a great place to try.

It was a late lunch for us. About 2pm. A group of 14. The 2 guys (they might be the owners) were extremely welcoming. They were very hospitable. The fondue was good. The rostis we have were very flavorful. There was a lot of food. The demonstration to the kids on how to do the fondue was fun for the kids. The tomato soup… I just needed a hot soup and I don’t usually drink tomato soup… but the tomato soup. It was amazing. Another table had the whole roast chicken. They said that was good too.
