Restaurant Bar La Cañada
Reviews
They have live music on the weekends. They do have tables if you would prefer to sit and eat. They also have a bar area.
Let me first address the other complaints people have made here. First, this is not a real “restaurant” no one will seat you or serve you, no one will attend to you, no one will wait on you. This location is barely a restaurant, the interior is not nice nor even fully furnished (even before Covid). Think of this place as a “to go” spot that just so happens to have tables and chairs to eat, plus a bar.
Second, yes everything is a la carte here, tortillas are extra (old ones where better then the new ones they started making), salsa and nopales are extra too, neither are really that good so skip them. PreCovid any pound was around $8 which was a deal, now as of Oct 2021 their prices jumped up to $12 per lb, which is pretty much the going rate today anyways. But these carnitas and buche is top notch, better then Dos Portillos and more established then street vendors.
Third, yes there are really long lines (1 hour +)especially Saturday and Sunday morning. La gente esta cruda and want their carnitas. The long lines are a testament to their quality and flavor of their food, they’re second to none. Everything here is cooked like it should be, not dry at all, but not too greasy either, again the buche is top notch as well.
Having been a patron for years here and will continue to do so even with the price increases, long lines, and relatively far distance from me, their that good.
Price per person: …
The earlier u arrive the better.
The wait in line for the carnitas can be up to 20-25 min.
This place does not disappoint
