La Fontaine is a must visit whether in QC or skiing at Jay Peak! Amazing traditional French fare with quality ingredients cooked to perfection! The service was exceptional and the Inn is beautiful! The homemade Duck pate was brilliant as were all the dishes, escargot, rabbit leg with prune and duck breast. I really can’t say enough about this gastro experience, we loved the food and felt at home! Thank you, we can’t wait to come back!

This is our second visit to la fontaine restaurant in about five years and the service and the food have if anything, just improved.
It’s in a beautifully maintained old house, right on the main street of Sutton, and serves delicious French cuisine with attentive service.

Lovely atmosphere, super service and excellent food. Waitstaff were attentive and very helpful when my friend was stung by a bee. Prices were moderate but the food quality more than warranted the bill.

We had a great lunch at a la Fontaine. They had a special menu with a choice of soup or salad, and choice of several main dishes. I had a salad, my wife chose the soup. We both had beef bourgonion. Tea or coffee completed the deal. It was a good value,and very tasty. The service was top-notch, and the restaurant itself was charming. I would be interested in learning more about the hotel part of the business.
Highly recommended, and we will return. I neglected to mention that as an anglophone from the U.S, the whole experience in Sutton seems a little exotic with everyone speaking French. That being said, our hosts at La Fontaine were quite proficient in, and willing to converse in English. Part of the fun for me is to try speaking French, and they made me feel at ease with my less than fluent French. Two thumbs up.

The place is cute. The server was working really hard serving all the tables by himself. But the food is overpriced for the quality. It is NOT French food. The duck was flavourless, all the other meals were in a brown salty sauce. How do you serve beef stroganoff without dumplings, or noodles or rice or something.
With a better chef, this place could be good.
