My co-pilot on this trip found this place as we are driving to Florida. I wanted Italian food, but not a pizza place. Well the Reservoir Tavern was the perfect spot.
Started off with a mini meatball sandwich, the meatball was delicious and it was dripping in cheese. The lasagna was delicious, taste like a grandmother made it, it was flavorful, with just the right amount of sauce and a good size portion. Next was the chicken, smothered in cheese with 2 tomatoes on top with cheese and spices, on top of spaghetti.
This place looked and felt like a local hangout, it was pretty busy when we got there around 4:00, but thats what makes a good restaurant. Will definitely be back here on the next trip

Stopped on a Saturday afternoon with 2 people. Bar and dining were both full, we got lucky enough to get a table right away! Tavern has a historic feel with photos all over the walls detailing the taverns history. Service, pies, and atmosphere were great! Their pies are on the thicker side, crust and sauce has a great taste, 100% we will be back!

Been a customer at Reservoir Tavern for over 30 years. About time I left a review. I/we have been there many times with many different people for many different occasions.
Side note, there’s another place close by, initials CI, that is similar yet different, and more expensive. You know the CI if you’re from this area. Very good place, 4.5 stars.
Back to RT, you simply can’t go wrong. The bar and the bar area with some tables is exceptional. A great place to eat, drink, socialize, relax, feel like family. And OMG their pizza just keeps hittin’ it outta da park. Ever feel that there’s not enough sausage on your sausage pie? You will never feel that way at RT. And the quality of the sausage is exceptional. The entire menu (beet salad, yum) is great. One way to know that a place is valued is when the parking lot is almost always full, but you’ll find a spot. Do it baby! Thank you Reservoir Tavern for the reply, yes, here’s to the next 30 years!

Have not visited for a while. Still clean old style tavern that’s known for their pizza. But there’s so much more! This trip. I had the dry rub ribs, you can buy individually!! OMG .. absolutely incredible.☺️. half the pie came home with me.. Great service and delicious food..

Absolute hidden gem. This family run Italian establishment has been in operation since 1936, and it does not disappoint. Great for family, dates, groups and business lunches & dinners as well. Fully stocked bar to eat at and watch sports. Try to come early because there is always a wait if you come after 5pm. They also take reservations which I highly recommend. Friends took us here for our first visit and we will definitely be returning. We all shared a large Pizza pie, half plain and half sausage well done. Dry rub chicken wings with a variety of dipping sauces to choose from. We also shared the fried clam strips that were not greasy at all. Check it out! You will be another happy customer, I promise. ❤️

Amazing old fashion restaurant. A must try in Boonton. Their pizzas are fresh and exquisite. Service is very attentive, starting from the moment you come in to ask for a table. Be aware that due to the great food, waiting time could be from 15 to sometimes 30 minutes.

NYC is the Italian American capital city, but NJ is the Italian American state (upstate NY and Long Island are no match for Jersey’s pizza and Italian food culture in general). A testament to this tradition are places like Bevacqua’s Reservoir Tavern. The Rez as it’s known by Parsippany/Boonton area locals is the oldest pizza parlor and Italian restaurant in Morris County, and likely one of the 10 oldest in NJ (along with the likes of Sciortiono’s in South Amboy, DeLucia’s in Raritan, Santillos in Elizabeth, Patsy’s in Paterson, Barcelona’s in Garfield, and Papa’s in Robinsville), so it came as no surprise that this was one of the better and more memorable pizzas I’ve ever had in my life. This place may be a tavern by name, but the pizza served here is definitely not a cracker-like bar pie, they’re pizza is North Jersey/New York style with a rustic and artisan flair, with a crust that’s slightly hardier than the average slice and the sauce is among the best I’ve ever had. Only potential complaint is the pie can be noticeably floppy because of the softer middle of the pizza, so it can be a messy experience, which I don’t mind at all but others might. Overall for me, an 8 1/2 bordering on a 9 out of 10. The pasta dishes were phenomenal too, and the atmosphere was awesome, old school tavern/pub combined with your classic NJ/NYC Italian American flair. The restaurant as a whole, I would rate easily a 10 out of 10. Great service, great food, great time. Can’t wait to return in the future, and certainly will now that I live in Morris County.

Great local spot that’s always packed, and for good reason. The food in the restaurant is good but the pizza is great.
Nice crisp crust that holds the pizza together well. The sauce is tasty and the cheese was the perfect amount. The sausage was so fresh; would highly recommend adding that.
