Great room for a show! We were able to cozy up to the front of the stage and enjoy a band we haven’t seen in a very long time. Staff was beyond friendly and loved that it wasn’t a late night. Most shows don’t start till after 10. This show started at 8:30 and we walked out at 10:30. A 2 hr set! And the bathrooms are like Bucees bathrooms!

Our company had a corporate event last night and rented the entire venue out. They had a live band that played cover songs very well, multiple bars, good food, and great staff.

I’ve attached some pictures to this review to show everyone what it was like. My favorite part was sitting in the outside area by a fire. Their “backyard” theme was pretty cool. They had lawn chairs on grass surrounding fire pits. Inside is huge.

Inside feels like a club. The three story building has open ceilings with multilevel seating surrounding the main stage. And There’s a large dance floor area.

My experience was with a corporate event. Looking forward to revisiting this place when I return to Texas on a normal night. It was a of fun. Highly recommend it.

UPDATE:

I am lowering the review by one star. I gave it some time before I returned to let the new wear off.

The people there were still great folks, very kind, respectful and welcoming.

As I did not eat here the first time, I have no comparison on the food from before.

I did eat this time and I must say I am extremely disappointed. I was expecting some stellar meat and sides but was left wanting.

The brisket was overly fatty throughout, meaning there was little meat with the fat.

The cheese and jalapeno sausage was very greasy (mainly due to the cheese most likely) and had no taste.

The potato salad was more of a mustard salad…the other ingredients were not palatable because of the mustard.

The only items that I could eat were the macaroni and cheese and the banana pudding.

The bottled water was good.

The only other issue is the ordering counter is in the back and has no or not enough A/C because it is screened in only.

I was hopeful that this was going to be a good spot for BBQ, but my hopes were dashed.

Maybe some of these items will be addressed and remedied for others to have a better experience.

Again the folks are great and that helps….if your not eating.

Really great folks…went to the grand opening of the Republic BBQ. A ton of people showed up. Inside was inviting and the food smelled great. Unfortunately line was too long to stay…I look forward to going back to eat.

The BBQ portion is only open Thursday through Saturday.

Very much enjoyed the atmosphere. It’s on the opposite end of Houston from where I live but will definitely be back just for the feel of the place. They had run a coupon for 50% off food so were out of most items, that’s the only reason for not giving 5 stars but it’s low & slow BBQ so even that is understandable. The BBQ eaten was Good & they have Burnt Ends, one of my favorites hard to find outside of Kansas City, nice to know we can now get them in Houston!

First time visit and I certainly will not be going back again. I was there for an event and they had us outside in the back. It was a chilly night and they did not even bother turning on their heaters for us.

It is completely overpriced and from the other reviews I have read about this place I am not the only one who thinks so either. I only ordered a drink and that alone was costly. I can’t imagine ordering food. I ordered a rum and coke which cost me $9 and my friend ordered a whiskey and coke costing her $12. Two ingredients only and not top-shelf alcohol. No way should it have cost that much.

Also the food is not worth it. The event did have some of their food, but it tasted bad. We were served some bacon on a stick, chips and salsa, and Mac and cheese with a small piece of meat on top. The pasta was cold and even uncooked. Completely unacceptable. The bacon was cold as well. The meat on the pasta had no flavor and there was barely any flavor coming from the bacon.

When asked about when the food was coming out we were greeted with an “UH?” The service was so slow with the food coming out and had no organization. If you are having an event with about 50+ people like we did then Redneck should have been prepared which clearly they were not. The waiters do not know how service a party and you had to chase them down in order to grab some food. Empty plates and cups littered the tables and were not cleaned up by the employees. Don’t bother having an event here and I would not bother coming here either.

The food was so good! Tender brisket and ribs were the meat just fell off the bone. It has a nice casual feeling yet it’s super neat and clean. My one complaint is that we had to go sit in line to get the food. This was fine at the beginning but we would have liked to ask our drink waitress to get us some baked potatoes or something. The line really got long later in the night. That aside, our waitress was great. Service was very friendly and prompt. I almost left like I was in a small friendly town.

The venue was great. We saw Shenandoah in the concert area and sat pretty much right in front. It was intimate and very comfortable. The music was not overly loud but it still had a larger concert feel. There was a lot of people there but I never had to wait in line for the restroom nor did I have to push through crowds of people to get through.

We loved the support this place show for veterans. And the MC for the night was great. Michael Berry showed up as the picture indicates. So it was nice to see him in person too.

This place is great! It’s worth the drive and we will be back.

Nice multi-venue set up, good Barbecue and Good entertainment. Our Venue was in the outdoor, covered, segregated, and well ventilated area with a great stage and very large dance floor area.

I had been wanting to try this place for a long time. When I did finally go, I had a weird encounter with one of the employees, and wrote to the owner about my disappointment. He promptly replied with the most understanding email, wanted to make it right, and copied his General Manager. She was amazing, and she kept on me because I had not responded. Her email was getting spammed out and I finally noticed one and connected with her. She invited me back in, and asked me to bring some friends. I did just that and what a different experience. The thing I love about this place is that it feels safe. It is the kind of place where my friends and I felt comfortable to just sit and talk about life. I am Chinese, my friend is Filipino and my other friend is Indian, and we did not feel out of place. It is open to the outdoors but it is covered and the air flow is very good. Somehow they have defied the laws of Houston humidity, and it is a comfortable place to dine. If you’ve never been here before, you’ll want to know how to get your food. Walk in the front entrance and turn right. There will be another set of doors that separates the ordering area from the dining room. The line is like any traditional bbq place, you get your meats, then sides and then drinks and desserts. They do the drinks different though – you order your drink, and then you step out of the ordering area, straight ahead to the bar and pick up your drinks. Rocky wanders the dining area, and does a good job of refilling the drinks and gets the tables ready for the next guest. If you like fatty brisket, ask them for it. They will take care of you. The jalapeno sausage was good, but I found myself pulling off the outer casing because it was a bit tough. The banana pudding is so good, and the collard greens are quite enjoyable (I typically dislike collard greens). The three meat plate is a little out of my price range for a lunch meal to eat regularly, but the food is almost too much to eat. One or two meat plates are good enough. The sauces are fun to experiment with. Those you will find just as you exit the ordering area. Don’t underestimate this place – it is driven by good people who will go the extra mile to make it a good experience, and if it is not they will make it right. I appreciated the meal and the conversation. It was worth a chance.

The atmosphere speaks for itself considering this is at the red neck country club. Free entry for food on non-show nights.

I had a three meat plate. The brisket was excellent, some of the best I’ve had though they gave me the tip and it had quite a bit of fat. Well smoked with a great ring. Ribs didn’t have a strong flavor at all. They were okay. I was a little disappointed with them. The chicken was a dryrub baked chicken. It was very good. Great for my wife who is okay with smoked BBQ but doesn’t love it. The chicken reminds me of medieval times mixed with Texas Roadhouse dry rub before they got rid of it. It was good.

The sides I choose were Mac and cheese which came with Fritos for texture. The Fritos were a nice touch to dress up pretty ordinary macaroni. Baked beans were odd. They have a good kick in the back end. They taste like Mexican baked beans a little up front. They were okay. I wished they used some BBQ sauce in there. It needs it.

Sweet tea was awful. Just get something else. Weak brew and very little sugar. I read that on another review and figured I’d try it anyways. Take it from me, don’t get it.

Their BBQ sauces were good. Sweet and tangy. There was a little alcohol base to one if not both of them. It was pretty good, different at least.

Overall the brisket and chicken standout. Everything else was okay. Pretty decent overall.

This place was very nice! There’s not a bad spot in the house. I saw Mark Chestnut and it was a great show.
