It looked nice inside, but it was half empty. There were many game tables and things but they weren’t being used. We found the restaurant area and had to seat ourselves after asking someone, because there was no sign that we saw.
The waitress was nice. The food was pricey but we were hungry so we ordered. Unfortunately, the food was terrible. I do not say this lightly… It was literally terrible and I couldn’t eat it all. Even my husband who eats almost anything said it was bad.
There was salt all over everything, big patches of salt randomly in the food.
I ordered no pickle on my cheeseburger and the waitress definitely wrote it down, but they brought it with pickles and as everyone knows, pickle juice will get all over whatever it touches so I had to ask for another burger top and toppings. The replacement burger top was literally half burnt. So crunchy it broke in half! I tried to eat my burger without a bun top and I put the replacement lettuce and onion on it, finding random patches of salt as I ate. I didn’t finish it.
I swear the french fries were baked in an oven or air fryer. The taste and texture were exactly the same as if I made them at home from a bag of frozen fries. There is NO WAY those were made in a fryer. There is also NO WAY someone should pay those outrageous prices for frozen food we could cook at home.
The onion appetizer was so greasy and salty we didn’t finish that, either. Maybe their fryer broke down? That would explain the baked (or air-fried?) fries. Would have been nice to tell customers if there are issues instead of pretending everything is fine. My husband said it seemed like other tables sent food back as well, so it wasn’t just us.
The waitress gave us an apology and a discounted bill so I appreciate that, but it didn’t seem sincere since there was not even an attempt at an explanation of why or what was the cause (new cook, broken appliances, etc.).
So, I don’t know what is going on here, but I can’t recommend Remington Kitchen, that’s for sure. I was considering coming back to play Bingo here with my daughter but, now… I don’t know. Shame, because there isn’t a lot to do around town since we aren’t rich and don’t ski.
The food is nothing more than standard but good, but the service and the ambience is outstanding. We had a great evening with a lot of laughter.
But don‘t let you scam: they say they have a German style lager, but as Germans we can say for sure: not at all! Take the hazy IPA instead – great beer, even from a German perspective.
Thanks a lot to the two guys serving us – we had a great evening. Keep up the good vibe, folks!
And to everyone hesitating: go there! You will have a fun night compared to the other restaurants.
