The fixed menu offers a delicious experience: a salad with a excellent vinaigrette, impeccably cooked and sliced beef (medium-rare, just as it should be), and perfectly crispy french fries. Water and desserts are separate.
The food was outstanding, with generous portions. They even came around twice to serve more meat and fries. What truly sets this place apart are the sauces for both the salad and the meat; they are delicious. For dessert, I had a Mont Blanc, which was excellent too with great texture and flavor.
A couple of downsides. The waiting times outside were excessively long, almost an hour in the cold, which is unacceptable even during peak hours. They should improve this, perhaps with a covered or indoor waiting area, or consider a larger venue. Furthermore, the price of drinks is insane: I paid 7€ for a 1L sparkling water bottle.
That said, I had a good experience overall.
The Steak only comes in rare (which is actually medium rare), medium and well done. The first serving is around 4 slices of beef with fries and once you are done, they serve you a second portion, which is around 3 slices and more fries. I personally think the steak is very average, and unless you are used to cheap steak, the steak is nowhere near to great or excellent steak. I find it very hard to believe folks who think the steak here is actually outstanding. The fries are quite additive though. Service is good and prompt. Bottomline, it’s really not worth queuing just for the steak and there are much better steaks out there but it you want a fixed price for a set, I guess this place will work for you.
The wait time was over 90 minutes before we got a table on the outside. The tables are cramped and wobbly. The steak was chewy and the special sauce was nothing to rave about. The house wine was the only saving grace.
The cost to dine here is exhorbidant when comparing it to the poor quality of food and experience.
Please save your time and money to experience some great options in Paris. Give this place a pass.
The concept is fun in theory, no menu, one dish, classic steak-frites. In reality, it felt like a factory line. Every customer arrives at the same time, and the staff rush to flip tables as fast as possible. Service was curt, probably because they’re moving at an impossible pace, but it still takes away from the meal.
The steak itself was the biggest letdown. We ordered it rare and it arrived cold. Not lukewarm, cold. For a place famous for just one dish, that’s a hard miss. The frites were fine, but nothing close to justifying the wait or the hype.
We were genuinely excited to enjoy a great steak-frites in Paris. This wasn’t it. If you’re looking for quality food or a relaxed dinner, there are far better options in the city without the chaos.
