Great food every time. I have been to the Norfolk location and the Virginia Beach location and they are both top notch. Everything I have tried is excellent. Last time we got the Smoke Stack Sammich, which includes brisket, pulled pork and their smoked sausage. It is so tasty and you get a bit of everything. The pork belly is great. The pork rinds are the best you can get. The wings with the dry rub are killer. We got the Tommy Boy, a sometimes Friday special, the best pastrami sandwich at the Beach. I haven’t tried anything I didn’t love yet. The staff is always on the move and are always very friendly. Already planning our next visit.

Out of the three locations, this one is hands-down my favorite—and coming from a girl born and raised in Texas, that says a lot. From the moment you walk in, you can tell this place cares deeply about the details. The food is definitely good. I normally go to the Norfolk location but I tried VB today. Everything was tasty but I think the sampler is a little on the expensive side. But that wouldn’t stop me from getting it again. You got to check them out and see for yourself. Please try their bananamisu!! It is so, so good!

I’ve had brisket here and there all over the US (including Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas) but I’ve never had brisket I thoroughly enjoyed as much the “OG” brisket sandwich I just had here. I’m not even hungry at this point, but tempted to buy another
And the atmosphere is chill and fun. Loved the cow and pig paintings in the bathroom… with googly eyes!
My only concern is that this place is so close to my work – I foresee lots of lunches and on-the-way-home stops here in the future.

Jen and the crew are wonderful and courteous. The food is amazing. I live in Texas and when I come to visit this is the only place I will come to eat, the food is spot on! You won’t regret it. The collard greens, potato salad, beans, corn pudding and of course the brisket is AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS.

We just had the absolute best experience at the Virginia Beach Redwood! Jen and Leo gave us exceptional customer service! I can’t get over how kind they were to me and my 3 boys. Came for a weekend getaway and this was the place for BBQ on the all the websites and I see why. They opened at 11 and we got there at 1120 and the line was already long. Typical choices for a bbq joint. But they had a beef ribs special. $20 a bone (normally they weigh it) and you got to choose which one you wanted. Amazing. Customer service was amazing from start to finish. There was 2 of us in our party and we spent $107 which we found to be reasonable for everything we got.
1st order was a 2 meat sampler with
pulled pork-moist and tender 7/10
Sausage the texture was weird to me 5/10
Mac & cheese highlight of the show 10/10
Fries fresh and hot and came with a sauce 10/10
2nd order was a 2 meat sampler with
Brisket-lean 8/10
Pulled chicken lacked flavor 5/10

Greens you could taste the vinegar and a spice that was nice 7/10

The food was great. I had the El Choppo (chopped brisket, I had mine with no bun) with some fries and some corn pudding. If I didn’t have to go back to work, I would’ve had a nap. Both the brisket and corn pudding were moist and flavorful. The food was and the atmosphere was dope. Definitely going back.

I am from Texas, so I had to try this “Texas Inspired” BBQ! Let me just say, they did a really good job of representing Texas BBQ; we can even take some notes from them! What crazy decided that Smoked Pickles should be added to a menu? I had to try those as well! I want a jar to take back home! The mac and cheese was good, the bean were good, the collard greens were good, the meat (doesn’t matter which meat — all of them that we tried) was good! This place did not disappoint!
