Place wasn’t busy, waited 35 minutes to get a chicken sandwich and a hotdog. Food was mediocre, at best. Maybe I’m just spoiled on Chicago style hotdogs, This certainly wasn’t it.

Loved it! Chicago dog was great! Root beer awesome! Service and staff were super nice. A pleasure to see the young kids working with smile on their faces! Solid!!!

I pulled up and was greeted promptly and offered a menu. After I had a chance to look at the menu my server stopped by and asked if I was ready to order. I ordered the foot long Chicago dog basket. I was not aware of what I truly just ordered. It came with a whole basket of fries with two generous portions of ketchup in cups, a good sized cup of applesauce (you can also choose coleslaw if you prefer), a footlong (probably more like 16 inches) 3/4 pound hotdog, and a medium mug of root beer. The hotdog was on point and looked and tasted amazing. The fries were nice and crispy. The applesauce was delicious. And the root beer in a frosted mug was probably the best I have ever had! The atmosphere was 50s drive in, so much fun. If I am in the area again I will definitely stop by again.

Drive inns are an endangered species, and this one is special. Their root beer is really good and their rather expensive Chicago style hot dogs are the best around here for sure. The owner is nice and so are the wait staff. Great place to go on a summer afternoon.
Update: awesome onion rings too@

Great place, fiance and I favorite quick small town lunch/ dinner joint. The staff are always super friendly, food is usually always good and the root beer is a must every visit! Open rain or shine, too bad not snow as well. Can’t wait until March for more root beer!

Red’s Root Beer, old school drive up burger bar was a surprise find after driving for hours and making a stop to stretch our legs and let the doggo pee pee in Paw Paw. My mom and I were delighted to find they had vegetarian options that were also vegan, delicious hamburgers and a super fun atmosphere with 50s music playing and awesomely friendly staff. They even had a doggie menu, Leroy had the Dog Hot Dog (a wiener in a plate), that he devoured in seconds. SO cool!

Amazing service. Not sure of the girls name but she had an amazing personality and smile. Burger was decent. Fried pickles and root beer were great! Prices reasonable too

I didn’t know that places like Red’s still existed! This is a wonderful relic of Americana: Park your car, get waited on, and enjoy a nice juicy cheeseburger or hot dog from the comfort of your vehicle. My family had such a wonderful experience at Red’s, and plan to visit again when we drive through the area! PS It goes without saying, but get the Root Beer in the frosty cold (glass!) mug!
