Great Blues and Barbecue in Coldwater, Mississippi – the delta review
Red’s Coldwater BBQ and Blues, despite the name, has no connection to the famous Red’s Juke Joint in Clarksdale. The latter is primarily a blues venue.

I wish I could give this place more than 5 stars. Red’s is the real deal. From open mic night (lots of local talent) to the booked acts, the music is great! But the FOOD will blow you away. Chef James has perfected his menu to offer the best that a smoker can deliver. He cooks on only cast iron with wood for heat in his kitchen. And the service is excellent. ‘Queen’ makes you feel at home and treats everyone like you are in her home. Love this place.

This place is a whole vibe! We thought we were walking into a small town BBQ joint, but surprisingly discovered a hand crafted, made to order, chef driven, one man show, BBQ and Blues joint. I can’t think of a praise high enough for this place. Just go, and thank me later!

Carnita Tacos – Hands down, sooo good
Pork Egg Rolls – Awesome, too
And if you ever get a chance to enjoy one of their themed meals – DO IT. We went for Valentine’s Day and the menu was out of this world! Ingredients you would have never thought to coincide together, but tasted amazing. A good chance to try something different.
They always have live music (band permitting) and it’s always a great time. Our family and friends LOVE coming here. Make sure you take care of Sunshine, because she does her best to make sure we’re all taken care of, as well as James and all his skills. We love that y’all are here!

We loved the atmosphere! Excellent customer service!!! Superb food!! Everything is smoked over pit! Love the cajun flavors too!! Made us feel like we were back home in Louisiana!! He making amazing boudin too!! Today we had the sausage cheese plate and chicken fried steak. Please stop in and taste his food!! He’s open thurs thru sun. Enjoy the outdoors patio area too Check! Best BBQ ever wow Herbs and veggies hand picked out of their gardens in the back Brisket and Pork sandwiches were off the chain. Took two more brisket sandwiches to go Will be back for sure!
