Really something special for the Upper Valley! A hidden gem right on South Main Street bringing upscale dining to an otherwise Mom & Pop, BBQ, and fast food town. The Oyster bar is truly scrumptious with fantastic selections from the best of New England. The Brussels Sprouts are out of this world and as someone who does not like mushrooms, even I not only enjoyed the mushroom risotto, I kept going back for more.

Truly thankful for something so great in this area. 10 out of 10 must try!

My wife and I had a great time dining at Red Can. We started out in Room 39 where my wife asked for a personalized drink, and Emily absolutely nailed it. It was so good we think it should go on the menu and be called “The Emily.”
After that we sat at the oyster bar where I sampled all three oyster options. The gentleman behind the bar prepared them with real professionalism and clearly knew his oysters. They were delicious.
For dinner I had the whole clam pasta special, and my wife ordered the soup along with the homemade chips and dip. Everything was excellent and did not disappoint.
We even had the chance to meet the chef and tell him how much we enjoyed the meal. Our server, Paige, mentioned she was new there, but she certainly wasn’t new to serving, great personality, very helpful, and made the experience even better.
Great food, great staff, and a really enjoyable evening. We’ll definitely be back.

This place is a hidden gem! The apps and cocktails are amazing, and we loved the cozy atmosphere In the restaurant with the leather chairs and jazz playing. We also really enjoyed the speak easy lounge for after dinner drinks. It’s very thoughtfully curated with craft cocktails and themed decor and music. But what stood out the most other than the amazing food, was the staff! Everyone was so kind and friendly. The hostess made small talk and showed us the speak easy which we never would’ve discovered otherwise, the bus boy commented on my boyfriends Seattle hat, the bar tender shared his experience working for red can and developing the lounge’s drink menu and to top it off we got to meet the owner. Jason introduced himself and shared a bit about his background which we really enjoyed hearing as my S/O is a chef himself. It was really unique and *refreshing* to see the owner so involved in day to day operations. We only ordered apps, but everything we tried was clearly very thoughtfully curated with unique flavors and we will definitely have to come back to try more! Don’t miss this place!

It was an unfortunate series of events when my best friend and I planned to go to Redcan for a special dinner but the menu that was online was NOT available on the evening of our reservation. They were having an anniversary celebration of the restaurant and had a “fixed menu” which means 3-6 courses for a fixed price with very limited options. Nothing we had wanted to eat there was on the fixed menu and the fixed price was astronomical! It felt a bit scammy, to be honest, that we weren’t notified when we made our reservation that this would be happening. We ended up explaining this to the waitress after pondering over what to do, and decided it was best to leave. The staff seemed surprised but also tried to react in an understanding way. The atmosphere is nice – cozy, clean, warm and comfortable, with a touch of modern! Not too fancy, but special-occasion worthy for sure. I would like to try this restaurant again in the future so I can edit my review, but will call and make sure the menu will be available beforehand.

Outstanding hospitality and service which was apparent from the start. I almost thought the folks here were making up for some other shortcoming, but then the food and cocktails arrived and they were absolutely fantastic. Thai style chicken with sticky rice was succulent, well-spiced and brightly flavored. Really cozy and charming environment, although quiet for a Friday night (this was due to a blizzard which was arriving at just about the exact moment that we had). For anyone getting off the Amtrak and looking for a memorable meal and experience at a reasonable price, this is a no-brainer.

Ten stars for our waitress who was very attentive and professional. I didn’t get her name but she was one with the leopard print glasses and a very bubbly personality. We went with the fixed menu and pretty much tried out most of the dishes on there. Loved the beef tartare that was on the house. Beef salad was seasoned really well, same goes for the tuna ceviche however the chips were a bit overpowering and almost couldn’t taste the fish. Soup of the day was the curry cauliflower soup. All I tasted was cumin and no other seasoning, it was bleh. The spice was too much for me, my friend also said the same. Main course was 7/10 for both the duck breast and the cod. Best part of the entire course was the maple creme brûlée. That was the highlight of the meal. Absolutely delicious. I wish I could get it for main course. Nice atmosphere. I love that they don’t play loud music there, didn’t get to try the oyster bar but will come back for it. Overall very well-managed restaurant and will come back for that dessert.

It was delicious! Absolutely fabulous from start to finish. A couple ideas to improve the experience: offer an oyster sample? Perhaps offer a dessert board for couples to share? We loved the speak easy, our bartender was great! We loved the pre-fixed menu options and courses. Eddie was our server and took great care of us! He is phenomenal at his job! Maddison was our hostess and she was so outgoing and complimentary! Really made us feel comfortable in the restaurant/speakeasy. Compliments to the chef, it was one of the best dining experiences we have ever had.

It was our first time dining at REDCAN, but definitely won’t be our last! The food, the classy ambiance, the service, and the attention to detail were exceptional. We enjoyed three small plates apiece (as recommended by our wonderful server Makenna) and it was the perfect portion. The lobster salad and the butter board duo were the highlights, with every dish coming in close behind. Every plate was thoughtfully treated and uniquely presented. We finished our meals and enjoyed a cocktail courtesy of David in the exquisitely designed speakeasy. A perfect cap on a wonderful evening.

Absolutely amazing food first time we’ve been wish I had gone sooner. The atmosphere is great. The wait staff is great. The food was phenomenal. I don’t know what people are talking about. As far as it being too pricey it’s good food. It’s priced reasonable. We had the duck and 4 sides/appetizers and shared the maple crème brûlée for dessert, both myself, and my husband were full. Our sides included deviled eggs, the smashed fingerlings the risotto and the cheesy grits. Sorry, I don’t have a picture of the risotto or eggs but they were delicious
