Adrienne is my favorite person at Red Tracton’s! She always has the best energy, and I always leave having had a great experience here when I get to see her. She’s so warm, attentive, and genuinely makes you feel welcomed from the moment you walk in. You can tell she really cares and that kind of service makes all the difference!

Tracy was an amazing server and the food was outstanding. We used a Groupon and we compare this place with our favorite steakhouse! Our steak was tender and delicious, our mac n’cheese was awesome, and our dessert (molten lava cake) was pretty good! The service was just great! Tracy was entertaining and engaging! We will be back!

We were in town visiting for a week and made Christmas reservations. So, this was our first experience here. The reviews seemed promising. But, our experience was really disappointing. We arrived at 6pm and were seated quickly. The decor and vibe was… interesting. Someone in the reviews said super classy? Huh? Televisions and cheap decorations do not make a restaurant classy in my book. The path to the bathroom was dingy, I was shocked.

When we met our server, he seemed very out of it and bothered to be there (I get it, it was Christmas but c’mon dude). Didn’t crack a smile and wasn’t personable at all. Like, we were bothering him. So, that immediately changed the whole experience for us. He often disappeared and we felt forgotten about. Had to flag someone down for water. When we ordered our food, we’re told salmon was out. Also they were also out of lettuce we later heard from a nearby table. It took over an hour to get our entrees. We ordered filets, halibut (because salmon was out) and the seafood pasta. With some sides, gratin potatoes and broccolini. Both cold and underwhelming in flavor. Mushroom with the filets were cold and not flavorful as well. We’ve had comparable steaks that didn’t cost what they did, but we recognize the area we were in. The pasta was decent, but had to ask for the garlic bread that went with it which they forgot about. Overall, it just wasn’t special at all. I was with my in-laws, so I was really hoping it would impressive them. We didn’t order dessert because we just wanted to leave. The cost of this place is really high for the experience we had. Which, made it sting even more. We felt robbed. We would never recommend this restaurant to anyone.

This place goes to show you that an expensive dining experience doesn’t necessarily mean it will be a quality experience. Food was very overpriced for the quality which I suppose is somewhat related to the location, but the pricing still seems excessive vs the quality even for this part of California.

Salad had way too much dressing. They were out of salmon at 6pm on Christmas Day. The halibut was decent. After we already received our food, I overheard that they also ran out of salad except for wedges. Service was extremely slow, unfriendly and we felt forgotten about most of the evening. The seafood pasta was tasty but still seemed expensive for what it was. This place feels stuck in the past and I can’t imagine this place surviving a new generation of diners. I would never return here and would never recommend it.

Came here on a Friday night and I actually enjoyed the atmosphere.
Nice cozy restaurant with a separate room for entertainment and of course the bar. The main dining room has a lot tables and booths.

We opt to sit at the bar. I loved and enjoyed the piano man. Great selection of songs to sing and dance to. Our server (I think Robin) was very nice. 5 Stars for her.

The prices are a bit high and the food is served in large portions. My friends and I should’ve just ordered salads and 1 entree. The french fries, which was my friends side dish was huge serving.

Food:
16 OZ Double Bone French Cut Pork Chop with Baked Potato

My friends ordered the Fresh Ground Sirloin Steak and Seafood Pasta.

Personally speaking, the food was meh. It was just okay and not great. Again the portions are huge.

I’d probably return for drinks and appetizers when the Piano guy is there.

I recently had the immense pleasure of dining here. The shrimp cocktail– simply sublime. I adore the vibe, menu and staff. A perfect little gem in the paradise of north county!

Went here for lunch with my family to celebrate my cousin’s graduation and was pretty disappointed by the food compared to what we paid. 3 of us ordered the prime rib and I ordered it medium rare and the picture is what we got (well done). Luckily the waitress tried to make it right, but even then the NY strip I got was… Flavourless. Food overall was always overcooked or if they recooked it, it was somehow burned and still undercooked?? I don’t blame the waitress at all — she was the only person working and she was very apologetic about the food. Can’t recommend this place though. Total I paid $600 for 5 people.

Food is very good. However, they did a switcheroo with the wine we ordered–swapped in a much more expensive version (3x more expensive!) from the same vineyard. I accept that I did not check more carefully when they opened it, but: when you order wine, be sure you are getting what you think you are getting!

The epitome of an old-school steakhouse across from the Del Mar race track in Solana Beach. Open for lunch on Fridays. Otherwise, a piano bar steakhouse at night. The best ribeye steak I’ve had in years. Huge baked potatoes. Healthy pours on the drinks. The French dip sandwiches were ample and OK with an excellent au jus. The patty melt was a patty melt. Stick with the steaks and prime rib, and you’ll be very happy.

We had an outstanding dining experience thanks to Adrian, who was easily one of the best servers we’ve ever had. From the moment we sat down, she was warm, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu.
Adrian walked us through the steak options with confidence and helped us choose cuts that matched our tastes perfectly. Her recommendations for wine pairings and sides were spot-on, and she even shared details about how the steaks are aged and prepared—which really added to the experience.
What stood out most was her genuine passion for great service and food. She made us feel taken care of without ever being overbearing, and the entire meal ran smoothly because of her professionalism and expertise.
If you’re dining here, ask for Adrian—you won’t regret it!
