To start we were a party of 5 celebrating my son’s birthday. They proceeded to sit us at a small table that we all would not fit in. We asked to be moved to a booth where we all could fit.
Once we were seated the waitress took about 15 minutes to visit the table. We gave our drink orders. My husband also ordered a beer and after then drinks arrive at the table. She came back and said that the beer was only in a bottle. And then then came back and the beer wasn’t available.
So we put in our food order.. (We had two autistic kids at the table) So of course, one kid only eats mac & cheese. So we had to order him a kids mac & cheese. The other kid only eats basic cheeseburgers. So that was the easy part.
onto the adults that were ordering. My daughter wanted a southern charm, and it wasn’t available anymore so she got a different burger. She then ordered about four different dipping sauces. My husband put in an order Again, and he ordered his chicken burger about four dipping sauces. I put my order in and only asked for cheese and onion straws on the burger no barbecue sauce and no lettuce, tomato, pickle And I also ordered the cheese fondant dip.
Again, it took a while for it to come out. But I’m assuming it was a table runner that delivered it.. And the waitress never came back to the table.. I had to get up and go find someone To hunt down our waitress. Because the burger was loaded with barbecue sauce. It took half an hour for that burger to get corrected by that time Everybody at the table was done eating their dinner. They had to go back for the cheese sauce because it was never delivered to the table… We had to make sure all of the sauces were taking off our bill because they were never given to our table. Even though we mentioned that to the table runner.
We also told her we were celebrating my son‘s birthday so they could sing happy birthday. That didn’t happen.
The manager came over and said he was sorry.. then offered us a free appetizer card.
Also, There was no singing no nothing. We left because. This was horrible experience…. The Woodbridge, New Jersey location should’ve never closed.
We ordered burgers, of course, along with mozzarella twists, fried pickles and campfire sauce. I also ordered a desert pear margarita. Everything arrived quickly and the rest of the staff was very pleasant. The food was delicious and the campfire sauce was to die for.
Anthony made our experience exceptional. Had it not been for him, our visit would have been ordinary. Thank you Anthony for making our time at Red Robin a wonderful one : )
When I asked for a clearer explanation (especially since our pre-tax total bill was over $30) I was given no reasonable answer. For a place we visit at least once a week, this lack of transparency and unwillingness to honor a loyalty reward felt dismissive and unnecessary.
This experience has genuinely made me reconsider continuing to support this establishment. It’s frustrating to see restaurants becoming increasingly “cheap” with the very customers who consistently choose to return.
