The Ames Red Lobster is one of the best ones in the area! We were promptly greeted and seated. Our server Austin came over right away to take our drink orders and see if we had any menu questions. The food came out extremely fast, and everything tasted very fresh and hot. Great food! Great service! Great experience! Especially for the price point.

I walked in and was immediately engulfed by the delicious smell of lobster and crab. the hostess, Megan was very sweet and gave us a really nice booth. Carter was awesome and gave us plenty of rolls and was very fast at giving refills. He was awesome and we had a great time. the shrimp and lobster linguini was really good I recommend that. 10/10

What a fantastic Christmas meal today! Pam and I are both big fans of snow crab legs, so we’ve made it a tradition to go to the Ames Red Lobster for our Christmas day feast. The drive was a bit foggy on the way there this afternoon, but it was much improved on the way back. This location always impresses us with their fantastic servers and delicious food. The crab was absolutely perfect—easy to crack, resulting in large, tender, sweet, and juicy steaks we dipped in butter. We both had a baked potato to go along with our meal, which we’re taking home for tomorrow. I promised Frank the cat I’d bring a leg home for him, but I forgot and had to apologize afterward. I promised him I wouldn’t forget next time. The dragon shrimp arrived first and was amazing—nice and spicy with a perfect crunch. The biscuits were as delicious as always. And finally, we got to claim my birthday reward, which was about to expire on our Red Lobster app. I chose a cheesecake with strawberries, and it was huge! The texture melted in my mouth. As you can see, I jumped right in before taking a photo, (not sorry!) lol. This Red Lobster location is always exceeding our expectations. Sebastian was our server this afternoon and was delight, friendly, upbeat and checking on us numerous times. Red Lobster in Ames is obviously a very well managed restaurant, we can’t wait for an excuse to return.

Was there with 2 others. Was greeted as we walked in by all at hostess stand.
Got seated very quickly per my request on my reservations.
Our waiter Ian was very Prompt on getting our water and my Long Island iced tea.
Took our order was very nice about reading it back to us to make sure it was correct.
One of the other ordered I believe it’s shrimp pasta with tomatoes. The gentleman and I ordered the ultimate feast. The presentation was wonderful.
Only complaint I would have would be the Long Island iced tea was not very good. Send a little watery and could’ve used the garnish.
It has been a long time since I have been to Red Lobster and I will return.

We had such an amazing experience at Red Lobster! Our server, Rachael, was fantastic—she greeted us right away, got our drinks out quickly, and checked on us several times throughout the meal to make sure we had everything we needed. We ordered the lobster crab boil, and it came out hot, fresh, and absolutely delicious. She brought us lobster bibs because she overheard us talking about wanting a family photo and took the photo for us.
A big shout-out to Kim, the manager, as well! She went above and beyond—when she offered to do a lobster show for our six-year-old, who is completely obsessed with lobsters. She even got our kids lobster necklaces and stickers because they were out of official lobster handler certificates. It absolutely made his day!
Thank you, Rachael and Kim, for making our family dinner extra special. It’s amazing the difference great staff can make when you go out to eat. And these two We’ll definitely be back!
