Bright spot was Lloyd our waiter who impressed us with his calm demeanor and good service.
When we arrived to the Deptford Red Lobster around 1:30pm today, there was no one at the reception desk. After waiting several minutes, my husband walked over to the bar area to find someone to seat us.
Lloyd, a very personable waiter, cleaned off a table and seated us. He returned quickly with menus and biscuits. After ordering our meal, we watched as Lloyd greeted people at reception, cleaned off tables, waited on tables, delivered food to tables, checked on customers and rang up checks. I asked him where was the rest of the staff and learned they came in at 4pm.
Our $50 lunch included a lobster and sirloin meal and a dish with grilled shrimp and garlic shrimp. Not impressed with the size or quality of the shrimp or lobster.
I’m writing this review because I know people who rave about Red Lobster and I was looking forward to our lunch here. I was very surprised by the shabbiness of the restaurant and its disregard of the lunch crowd. Why not just open at 4pm for dinner? Kudos to our waiter Lloyd who did his very best to ensure customers had a good experience!

Fresh food and great service! We were greeted upon arrival and the wait was less than 20 mins. Our server was great as he was attentive and accommodating. Fresh bread was at our table 5 mins after we sat down and our food was out shortly after we ordered. I also really appreciate the manager walking around greeting every table including mines. We had a coupon for a dessert due to points accumulated and it was applied to bill and it was a seamless transaction. We paid on the tablets at the table and left.
Cons:
1. Endless Shrimp promotion is currently going on so we went for this special and the 1st thing the waiter told us once we stated that’s what we are ordering was “ We are no longer giving out to-go boxes at the end of your meal” which we felt was rude and attacking. Since when do you stop giving people to-go boxes for food they pay for but can’t finish? That alone was a reason to just get up and leave but I was hungry and we drove out our way to get there so we stayed.
2. Drinks! I don’t know if they were short actual bartenders the night I went however I ordered 3 different drinks that were all terrible and sent back. Thank goodness a actual bartender was sitting across from me and noticed the drink situation and offered her assistance by telling the waiter exactly how to make my drink and it came out spectacular!
Would I return: Not before I call 1st to find out what stipulations they have for their promotions.

Quite frankly I had written off Red Lobster for dinners based on some poorly prepared meals in the past. I watched and commercial with the CEO talking up the changes they have made in quality and menu items and decided to give them another try. I ordered the Ultimate Feast where you get to choose four items. I chose a lobster tail, snow crab clusters, garlic shrip nand coconut shrimp. Cheddar Bay biscuits and two sides are always included so my sides were coleslaw and a baked potato. The meal was perfect. The lobster was cooked just right as were the other three items. Of course their coleslaw is always a winner and the potato was baked to perfection with a salty crisped skin and tender inside. My server was top notch. Friendly and attentive without being overbearing. I must say I was pleasantly surprised by the whole experience compared to my previous visits to Red Lobsters. The dinner was not cheap at $45.99 however you can easily pay that much for a lobster tail alone at some restaurants and I do not mind paying up for a good meal. The person at the helm is obviously on track with the corporate plan to stay relevant in a tough market segment so I appreciate the effort and will certainly visit again and feel comfortable recommend Red Lobster to others again.

I had lobster for the first time in Hawaii. Kinda hard to beat that ,but it was extremely delicious. Steak is what I know. My steak was cooked to perfection(for me medium rare) crust was perfect flavor and tenderness all hit the mark. Very impressed for a place known for seafood to have my steak better than my lobster. Thank you to our server Mike D for the suggestions and prompt professional service.

I’ve been here many times but this time my waiter let me pick my lobster and even take a Pic with it, sadly I named him infamously Larry which was a mistake because what happened next RIP. .. I asked them if they could stuff him with crab meat and thankfully I got a yes and I don’t regret asking it was amazing. My service was amazing we never ran out of drinks and he got everything rite for the family and I. TYSM & enjoy!

We weren’t sure what to expect because we haven’t been at a Red Lobster in years but we were pleasantly surprised. We came around 5 for dinner on a Friday and it wasn’t busy yet. Our server was very nice and attentive and the manager also came around to make sure everything was to our liking. I definitely recommend the create your own seafood fest. The surf and turf (ny strip) was also very good even though it was more cooked than we wanted. The calamari and flatbread were tasty and not overdone. The drinks were also impressive. The biscuits were as good as I remember!
