Red, Hot, and Blue serves American BBQ fare. Their brisket is probably the best thing we ordered. Their macaroni and cheese was very creamy and their greens – done better than other establishments. Their ribs are not as good as I hoped but passable. My som said their chicken sandwich was ‘not bad.’ My husband loved the Caesar salad and said it was very refreshing.
There’s plenty of parking and in walking distance to the Fairfax County Courthouse.

Took a friend to Red Hot & Blue for her birthday lunch. I ordered a pulled chicken platter with all white meat. She ordered the same thing. I don’t think they know what white meat means. When the server brought it to me, I said that it’s not white meat. She took it back. I thought she was going to correct it but instead she had some college boy bring it back and sit down in front of me. Basically you’re getting what we gave you. The french fries were cold and had been sitting around for a while. She said her salad tasted like an out of date bag of salad. She did not eat her food. She just left it. It’s sad to know that this restaurant after being there so long it’s not gonna last much longer because of the customer service or lack there of. 60 bucks for the worst food in Fairfax. Everything was off…. The brisket was bone dry. The hush puppies fried to death and a pulled pork nacho that was rotten.

At the Fairfax location you get this tiny plate of a few pieces of lettuce and some dried up meat for a smokehouse salad. I went to the Warrenton location and got a huge plate with moist meat and I had a hard time trying to eat it all. I do not recommend the Fairfax location.

Disappointing service. Your curbside sign says to call if you’re not greeted by someone in a minute. Okay, no one comes out. Call and someone comes out to tell me my food will be right out. Wait… 20 minutes later, I have to go in to ask where my food is and even then it takes a few minutes to locate it…. and it’s just been sitting there on the bench with all the other carryout food. Don’t even get me started on the jerky dry brisket… terrible. The fries missing the signature rub…

Overall good but could be better. Brisket seemed overcooked and meat texture became grainy rather than tender and juicy. Bbq sauce seemed very generic and bland. Ribs were decent but left me feeling these weren’t the best ribs I’ve had. Catfish was superb! Perfectly fried and seasoned! Cajun fries were great! Hush puppies were too dense for my liking. I prefer a more fluffy inner texture with that crispy outside that absorbs a dipping sauce well. Beans were great too! Cornbread was a lil to dense as well. I would suggest having 3 or 4 house sauces. Basic bbq, spicy bbq, vinegar based bbq and maybe a unique one only you serve. The 2 draft beers I had both seemed flat or stale. Love the ambiance of the dinning room! Might come back to try the pulled pork and chicken.

I visited the Fairfax location today and placed a to go order. I was very disappointed being that there was an insect(entire dead fly) in the Mac n cheese I ordered. Luckily I looked at my food prior to eating. Truly the most distasteful service I’ve ever experienced.

We have visited this location for a few years. We like their S Louis ribs. We always order the dry rub ribs and have not been disappointed yet. We found Red, Hot & Blue bbq ribs are much better from other establishments. Their red skin potato salad, grandma mashed potatoes and bbq beans are our favourites. We’ve always received excellent services regardless which location we visited.
Many locations of R,H&B had closed down. This is the only one left within driving distance from us. We think R,H&B serves good food along with excellent blues music. We hope more people would give them a try and support more.

Love the pulled pork, and the potato salad is out-of-this world. The people working there are very attentive and nice. We are happy that we have a Red Hot and Blue in Fairfax. Today many people came from the Fairfax Courthouse after the Johnny Depp trial, and likely be back tomorrow. Excitement watching his car go by.
They also have a great patio out front facing the main road, so fun to sun, eat and drink, and watch the people and cars go by.
Tons of delicious desserts, plus good blues music on the radio.
