Bella
I heard good things about this place so i decided to try it. Took about 20 minutes to get our food which is too long for what we ordered. Mine had like 4 small pieces of chicken and sauce and some mooshy scambled eggs which texture wise was horrible, but the sauce was OK in taste by itself. And the rice dish tasted like an over soy sauced fried rice, super salty, with Kielbasa sausage. For the price it was not worth it.

This is good Peruvian chicken. Best frid yucca I’ve had–very crispy. Diet Coke fountain drinks and clean bathrooms. Definitely plan to go back soon. I like the fruit cup option. Nice change from a side salad.

Beware of this restaurant, extremely dishonest management.

The management at this location deserves zero stars. If you are using a coupon, be prepared to be misled and treated poorly.

We used a Starving Student coupon before at the Provo location without any issues. This time, we used the same coupon at the Orem location. The deal clearly states Buy 1 entrée, get 1 free (saving $17.99), as shown in the screenshots.

We ordered two half-chicken entrées. The cashier scanned the coupon, charged us, and told us the wait time would be about 20 minutes. At no point were we told there were any restrictions.

After waiting 20 minutes, the cashier brought out the food and then informed us that “the boss’s mom said” that because we used a coupon, we were only allowed ¼ chicken, not half. This was never disclosed when we ordered, and directly contradicts both the coupon and our previous experience at the Provo location. We were told this was a “new rule.”

This is misleading, dishonest, and false advertising.

I asked to speak directly with the boss’s mom, but she refused to come out and instead hid in the kitchen, sending the employee to act as a mediator. We were then told she “doesn’t speak English.” Ironically, my husband speaks Spanish and suddenly she was “too busy” to speak to us at all. This is an unacceptable way to treat customers.

The cashier at the front was the only helpful and professional person there. She even disagreed with the situation, but could not approve a refund without a manager. She had to call twice before we finally received our refund.

Bottom line:
If you don’t want to honor a deal, don’t offer it. This is false advertising and completely unethical. Hiding in the kitchen instead of addressing customers is unprofessional and embarrassing for a business.

This restaurant should either honor the Starving Student deal as advertised or remove it entirely. I’m posting this so others don’t go through the same experience. I will not support a business that operates like this.

This review will also be sent directly to the restaurant’s management team and to Starving Student’s management.

I ordered a vegan bowl: beans, avocado, rice, and lettuce. What I got instead was lettuce, rice, tomatoes, and feta cheese: they left off the avocado and beans, and added cheese that made the dish non vegan. We had somewhere else to be and had already waited 20 minutes, so I couldn’t stay to get it switched, but at least we did end up getting a refund when we brought it back later.

I’ll preface first with saying I hardly leave reviews, especially bad reviews.. but yikes this place deserves it.

I’ve been here multiple times now and I absolutely love the food, it’s tasted great every time… but the customer service is horrendous every time. There’s usually a younger gal working the counter, who acts like it’s a problem to take your order. She was legit FaceTiming her friend one time while taking my order lol. They constantly take forever to get you your food (which for the portion size, is ridiculous).

Needless to say, each time I’ve been in here, the service is horrible. If you’re gonna constantly be behind on getting orders ready.. the least you could do is be kind to your customers and do it with a smile. Not asking much. I’d say stay away from this location and go to the Provo one instead.

I’ve been eating here for years and while the food is still okay, the quality has declined despite prices increasing. Specifically their sauces. They used to give you a larger quantity of sauce, and the sauce was more flavorful and tasted like real ingredients. Now it tastes watered down, almost like a thin ranch dressing, and they charge you if you want more of the nearly flavorless sauce. I’m not sure if I was here on a bad day, if they’re trying to make their food less Peruvian(big mistake if so), or if they’re trying to are just trying to cut costs, but I miss the taste of what Red Fuego used to be. The food is still good, but tastes less flavorful and less Peruvian. Some people might like it better how it is currently, but I’m now in search of some better lomo saltado.

First time eating here. Dined in. Prices are a little high for what you get but not awful. The atmosphere is spacious and clean.

We got the Tallarin Saltado with steak and the Arroz Chaufa with chicken. The Saltado tasted good but wasn’t anything special. The fettuccine noodles were super basic and really brought down the quality of the dish. The steak was cooked to well done and I wish I could’ve had something closer to medium rare. The onions were perfect, unlike the last Saltado dish I had though. The Chaufa seemed like basic fried rice. Nothing special and I’d probably ordering something with more flavor.

Overall, I would probably give a 3.5 star if I could but this was seemingly just a basic meal, with basic ingredients, with not enough flavor, and a price tag slightly too high to justify what you get.

I went in today and the restaurant was basically empty. Tried to order some chicken and the told me they didn’t have any… odd… they’re a chicken restaurant. So I asked what do they have? She pointed to one of the meals and I said sure. ONE order of what they already “had ready”… thirty minutes later it still wasn’t ready. There were like 3 other people there, what took them so long? I asked if she had forgotten me and she went back to the cook and came back to tell me it was another “5 minutes”. So I canceled my order and left. What a waste of time.

This place was a wonderful surprise. I went here for lunch with some guys from work, having never experienced it before. This place has many chicken dishes to choose from, and all of them that I’ve tried have been wonderfully flavored and well done with quality ingredients. The Aji De Pollo is a wonderful dish that is very much like a flavorful curry. Be sure to add the creamy spice sauce to it to make it even better..

My sister brought me here and I can see why it’s one of her favorite places! Their meat is seasoned nicely and cooked perfectly. Loved their sauces too. The egg was pretty overcooked but everything else was great.
