I had never tried Prime rib and Iam glad I tried here at the red fox. The portion was a huge pice of meat! Perfectly cooked juicy and tender.

On the way back from paddling on Long Lake, we decided to stop at the Red Fox. We’ve been driving past it for years, but never stopped in so we gave it a go. I have to say the food was phenomenal and the service was exceptional. We started out with a beer and one of their signature cocktails, and they brought us some fresh bread and butter, which we really enjoyed after paddling all day. I got the veal Parm and my bodyguard got the fillet. The veal Parm was exceptionally well prepared paperthin and extremely tasty. I was lucky enough to try some of the fillet and it was seasoned to perfection and I really enjoyed it. We had the lemon Italian cake for dessert and my God It was the perfect way to end the meal. Sara was our server and even though she has a Canadian accent she’s local from just down the road from the Red Fox. She was supported by a very professional team that would come by and pick up the plates, but they would always say excuse me ma’am, or sir, to make us aware that they were there instead of sneaking up on us. Extremely professional operation I can’t say that enough. If you’re ever driving by, I would definitely drop in and give it a try.

The inside of the restaurant is beautiful and classically Adirondack themed. The fox chandeliers are treasures. Our waitress was very friendly and down to earth, service is formal. Delicious, crusty, warm artisan bread is served before dinner. My husband had veal parm, I had French Onion soup. The food was good, it was the atmosphere that I loved. Our table looked out on their garden and the forest. Large restaurant with plenty of seating. There’s a room for large parties.

Was able to pop in without a reservation (4 of us) after strolling thru the ice castle. Kind of a long wait to get our order after getting our drink order. Probably about a 25 minute wait to get our food after that. That can be tricky because we had a 16 month old with us. I wandered around the restaurant with her to keep her from fussing. There food was very good. I wish I had read the size of the prime rib was 16oz… it was such a large piece of meat. (But perfect!). Was surprised that there wasn’t a vegetable option along with the starch. Pretty pricey menu.

We got a reservation after being recommended to eat there by a friend. It is a classic experience crossover between American fare and Italian and reminded us of eating out with our parents growing up.

I ordered the prime rib open face sandwich and my dining companion got veal Marsala. All entrees include soup or salad and come with fresh made Italian bread. The bread is excellent and the salads were fresh.

Service is slow, but friendly and kind. We kind of expected it in this environment. Entrees came out and initially looked good. Marsala dish was excellent. Open steak not so much. Apparently the kitchen had run out of prime rib and substituted a well done strip steak for the rib on the sandwich without anyone asking if this was ok. It was not good. I could see that with prime rib, the sandwich would be excellent. The server apologized and offered up dessert to make up for it.

Overall, I would come back. They charge a credit card fee of 3%, soft drink refills are not included, and the meal took almost 2 hours, but we enjoyed ourselves. I’d give it a shot if the menu looks good to you!

A very classy place. Definitely dress up a little for this gem. Thursday was a bit busy but we were able to wait at the bar until a table opened up. The service was courteous and attentive. The atmosphere was warm with classy vibes. The salads were fresh, with delicious raspberry vinaigrette was amazingly delicious and highly recommended. The scallops were a melt-in-your-mouth phenomenon. The strip was cooked perfectly for both the medium and medium-rare. Then the Chicken piccata was divine. Cooked to perfection and tender enough to cut with a fork. The pièce de résistance was the molten lava cake. Divinely chocolate and warm with a small scoop of vanilla ice cream to complement it. The cheese cake was one of the best we have tasted in a long time (didn’t even need the strawberry sauce! Which was also very tasty).

If you have the opportunity to stop, do so. The food is worth it and the whole experience will have you coming back for more.

I ordered broiled scallops. They were overcooked, rubbery, and lacking in flavor. Hugely disappointing. I’m sorry, but if you’re charging $45 for scallops, for God’s sake cook them properly. This was our anniversary, and our dinner was a huge disappointment. Service was good, ambience good, but the food was not.

In the past I have enjoyed the eggplant parmesan at the Red Fox,.and I might return again for this dish. But I will never again order seafood off their menu.

I was really looking forward to this restaurant. First off, they serve warm white bread (I’ve never seen that) then the French onion soup was so salty, it was inedible. Then the prime rib came so tough. I could barely cut it with a knife. Yes, it’s a generous size but barely edible too. Desert was tiramisu and I was soggy. The best part…….our waiter had us waiting for lengthy periods of time for everything. In fact I’m writing this review while awaiting to pick up check. Don’t waste your money here…….

Beautiful restaurant. Great service. Prime rib was okay, kind of tough and most of the flavor was in the au just. Thought the prices were a bit high for what you get.
