Absolutely fantastic. The brisket is smoked to perfection and all but melts in your mouth. It’s incredibly flavorful & doesn’t need sauce, but you should try the sauce anyway, especially the Carolina style golden sauce, which I’ve not seen much in this area. Don’t miss the pinto beans stewed with brisket and tomato or the cone pone-style cornbread.
The people could not be friendlier, and the pitmaster himself comes out to make sure customers are happy with their orders. Red Dirt is absolutely delicious & a hidden gem. Get here before Texas Monthly finds out about it & the line gets long.

It’s a great stop to come and support a community business that’s ran by a local vet. The barbecue was good! Home made sauces and good smoke on the meat., but the conversation was even better. This is really somebody trying to make an established difference in his community. If in the area, I would highly recommend stopping by.

Outstanding bbq in Jefferson!! We stopped here on a trip and were amazed at the food. The two owners were kind and we enjoyed some of the best bbq that we’ve had. Don’t forget to try the banana pudding, brisket, and Mac & cheese bites

My son and I were traveling and stumbled across this BBQ goldmine! The hospitality of the husband and wife duo was equally as amazing as their food. Everything we ordered was delicious. I highly recommend the Mexican street corn as a side and banana pudding for dessert!

WONDERFUL!!! Customer service. I was driving through town and saw their restaurant and I’m very glad I stopped by. The atmosphere is great, the owners are very friendly and personable and the wait time wasn’t long at all. They even added a little extra to my meal just because. I got the three meat plate with jalapeño sausage, chopped brisket and ribs and it was all cooked to perfection. If I come back this way I will always stop by to eat.
