This is my first time coming to this place to be treated like a common slave. The hostess was an old Asian woman with red hair color. She was rude to me and my son. I support this place bc I loved the people, atmosphere and how nice they were.

The old Asian lady treated me like crap and there were 3 white people behind me. She did not greet me, had short answers for me, she didn’t smile and tried to hurry me along. Every white personal that came through the door was greeted with a smile and called “sir and ma’am!” A black man came behind them and she treated him like she did me! No smile, hurried him up and told him to just sit down. She treated others like royalty. I’m keeping my big tip and will not come here again! I sent them workers. I’ve supported this place since Jim managed it off of Ballyntine commons!!

We were impressed. The bartender made great drinks the appetizers sampler was delicious came with 4 sauces. Were fussy when we order wonton soups and this was really good. We ordered the happy family and the brown sauce was really good. Waitress was very attentive and always came to us if we needed anything and how was food.

Food was amazing. Everything else was awful. The lady at the desk was rude and judgmental. The waitress was also rude and unhelpful. I tried and failed to get her attention due to her being on her phone. She only got up when I went to the bar for a refill after 20 minutes. Checking out was also a hassle. The host kept walking off while we were in the middle of speaking. I do not recommend if you are not just doing take out.

It has been a few years since I ordered from this Red Bowl because my last few experiences were not good. But I decided to give them a try since it has been a long time and I wanted to see if things had improved. Unfortunately, they have not. The Pad Thai had ZERO flavor, as in I’m not sure more than a teaspoon of sauce was used just to slightly color the noodles. And what was supposed to be chicken had a soft and chewy texture like an egg (but was not egg); therefore, I chose not to eat it since I was unsure of what I was eating. So, beware if you are ordering from here that, at the least, they appear to be going to extremes to cut cost and you may not be getting the flavor and quality you expect when ordering from a restaurant. I certainly will not be ordering from here again.

Let me start off by saying that this establishment is by far my favorite restaurant in Charlotte. The prices are superb much like the food. The environment is very nice, quiet and pleasing.
