This place was great! Me and my family were passing by and decided to stop in to grab something to eat. Best decision ever. I had the cheeseburger with fries and it was to die for. We also ordered the pancake plate and subbed the pancakes for waffles. They were perfectly cooked and we had them top it with whipped cream and fruit. The kids chicken tender basket was obviously homemade and my son ate the whole thing.They have a good assortment of sweets too but their chocolate milkshake was the cherry on top of a great home cooked meal! Would definitely come again and recommend 100% to anyone looking for great, home cooking without breaking the bank. Service was also top notch, loved to see the waitstaff helping each other out.

A newly opened restaurant and bakery. Cheeseburger and home fries were great! Grilled chicken salad was good too, large chicken helping was delicious and cooked just right… greens weren’t that great, but the rest of the salad was really good. The baked goods looked amazing, and I will go back and get some of the beautiful looking baked goods.

We came for breakfast and were not disappointed! The food was delicious – our favorites were the homemade biscuits (amazing!) and menudo. The owner came by and chatted with us; she was lovely! We didn’t try the pies or dessert but they looked so good. The flower shop in the back of the restaurant had beautiful arrangements – a hidden gem in Martindale.

There were three of us and a baby. We visited this cafe a year ago and were happy with our lunch and experience. Not this time…☹️
Today we noticed prices up 33% since last year. The western omelette was small and served with one piece of dry, white toast. The hash browns were overcooked, greasy French fries. A grilled cheese sandwich was OK. All in all, not much value for our $60+ bill. I left 20% for the server, since that was good.
This place has regressed. We will not be back. There are many other local restaurants (Bean and Brew, Kerbey Lane), that serve better, larger portions for the same price.

I have been there for breakfast (homemade biscuits and gravy were excellent!) and now, have been there for lunch. I ordered the meatloaf- meatloaf, green beans, mashed potatoes with brown gravy, side salad, and tea. Really good! I ended up taking home a couple of slices of pie for later. The bakery choices are nice as well.

Wonderful menudo! Friendly staff! Feels very old school, the place looks awesome with all the antiques! Love this old school style and atmosphere. I’d choose this place over Cracker Barrel any day 100% very kid friendly!
