It’s not on the menu when I went, but the restaurant has amazing vegan options. The owner’s daughters are vegan and vegetarian so the restaurant is well studied in what makes great plant based meals. The vegan skillet is amazing!!!

We enjoy coming here for breakfast. The service is very good. They are always asking if you need anything or want more coffee. Sometimes the skillets are a bit greasy for me. The cinnamon roll pancakes are awesome!

I was there a few weeks ago and not only was the food overpriced for what I ordered, biscuits and gravy with the biscuits most likley not made in house and the gravy 100% came from a can, but as I’m eating I look over and see a woman with her dog on the table. The owner, making the rounds talking to people, made a stop at the table with the dog and had a casual conversation, then moved on. Dogs in restaurants is already not ok, but dogs on the table, where we eat?!?! Definitely not ok.

We came here for lunch on our trip across the state, on the recommendation of a coworker. The family that owns and runs it is charming, the food is delicious. I had the Red Apple Sandwich – a French dip and hand-cut fresh made onion rings. And a cinnamon roll pancake. If you are in the Dixon area, get off the highway and away from the chains and go here instead.

Great quantity for what you pay. Local breakfast/brunch restaurant with friendly waiters and owner. Got their cinnamon roll pancake and it was the best one I’ve had from any restaurant! Also wanted to try one of their omelets so I got a mushroom and broccoli omelet which was above average but nothing to write home about. If I went again, I’d want to try an omelet with more ingredients or one of the many good looking dishes they brought out past us.

The Red Apple is worth the extra few miles off the I-88! Our server, Amanda, was very helpful in suggesting the regular customers favorite meals. I chose the healthy omelet with spinach and topped with avacado and fruit on the side. She said the cook arranges the fruit in different patterns for each plate and really cares about the presentation of each meal. The restaurant and bathroom were very clean and they even have hand sanitizer on the tables for you to use before your meal. We will definitely go back when we drive by Dixon again.
