We came in on a busy night which as expected impacted the service experience but at this price point it should have been better.
Our waiter was friendly enough but obviously overworked.
One app came fairly quickly and was finished by my date 15 mins before mine arrived. Which was soup, obviously something already prepared the clam chowder was delicious though.
Not egregious but telling.
Too be fair my entree was not seafood however , I was advised it was a great option , my date had the surf and turf special.
While service was slower than hoped for the food did make it to the table and it was immediately obvious it has been sitting under a heat lamp.
The beef medallions were dry, over cooke and lacked any seasoning, it cried out for salt even a pinch of flaked finishing salt could have helped. the crab cakes were dense dry and barely warm .
The chicken piccata was rough.
The plate it self was dirty , not a single person in expo checked it as it had an interesting color stain that
didn’t match my dish.
The chicken was sliced so thin and then charred that it was essentially jerky. Again no seasoning. Flakes of burnt not charred chicken were set to the wayside.
While the fish proteins looked fresh , the poultry wreaked of Gordon’s food or Cisco brands food delivery. Similar to the fries , frozen and bagged.
While. or the most expensive restaurant in Ann Arbor this was a special night type place.
Unfortunately there was really nothing special here to report.
can’t recommend.
I had the house dinner specials which included a lobster tail grilled scallops and grilled shrimp. Asparagus and mashed potatoes with lemon onion.
The lobster was excellent. The shrimp and scallops with the seasoning they used while grilling were how would one say. TO DIE FOR. Best grilled scallops and shrimp combination I’ve ever eaten.
The atmosphere was terrific. Great place for friends to dine together. Would make a wonderful impression for a first date.
The pricing I believe was very reasonable. Most dinners with a coffee or soda will be $30-40.
Combined the atmosphere, friendly helpful staff and amazing food its woth every penny.
I have been here twice in the last 4-6 weeks
If you like fresh seafood this is a must visit.
Best blackened Swordfish hands down. Good potatoes and good New England Clam Chowder. Great bread! Highly recommend.
Staff always friendly and personable.
The drinks are frosty and the service is impeccable. The food comes out fast and in good order with your happiness on the cross hairs.
They treated my friends and me like VIP’s and gave us a dessert to share because a few late ordered dishes took a little more time than expected. They made sure the delay didn’t go unnoticed even though we didn’t and were very accommodating.
The bar was very cozy and made happy hour possible because it is not available on the main floor. I’m sure with the high standards they have kept in motion all this time they will be here in another 35 years.
Thank you Real Seafood and Main Street Ventures;).
Each dish served was flavorful and cooked to perfection! Seafood was fresh…crab cakes was not made with a bunch of unnecessary fillers, it was sooo delicious! The salmon was really good as well. They mashed potatoes were just as delicious. The crisp of the rice from my appetizer was really good along with the flavor. We even enjoyed the dessert. As soon as we get back to the area this will be our first stop.
