Unfortunately this one was a huge letdown.

We came in on a busy night which as expected impacted the service experience but at this price point it should have been better.

Our waiter was friendly enough but obviously overworked.

One app came fairly quickly and was finished by my date 15 mins before mine arrived. Which was soup, obviously something already prepared the clam chowder was delicious though.

Not egregious but telling.

Too be fair my entree was not seafood however , I was advised it was a great option , my date had the surf and turf special.

While service was slower than hoped for the food did make it to the table and it was immediately obvious it has been sitting under a heat lamp.
The beef medallions were dry, over cooke and lacked any seasoning, it cried out for salt even a pinch of flaked finishing salt could have helped. the crab cakes were dense dry and barely warm .

The chicken piccata was rough.
The plate it self was dirty , not a single person in expo checked it as it had an interesting color stain that
didn’t match my dish.

The chicken was sliced so thin and then charred that it was essentially jerky. Again no seasoning. Flakes of burnt not charred chicken were set to the wayside.
While the fish proteins looked fresh , the poultry wreaked of Gordon’s food or Cisco brands food delivery. Similar to the fries , frozen and bagged.

While. or the most expensive restaurant in Ann Arbor this was a special night type place.

Unfortunately there was really nothing special here to report.

can’t recommend.

I love this restaurant. The wait staff are friendly and very knowledgeable. The seafood is fresh daily. One of had the fish and chips. The fresh was crispy let not greasy. One of us had the blackened Sword Fish, with smashed sweet potatoes. It was my daughter’s first time eating Swordfish. She wasn’t going to order it, she normally gets the blackened Salmon. The waiter Sean did a great job explaining the taste and textured. She order it and absolutely loved it. She isn’t much on sweet potatoes, but really enjoyed eating that combination together.
I had the house dinner specials which included a lobster tail grilled scallops and grilled shrimp. Asparagus and mashed potatoes with lemon onion.
The lobster was excellent. The shrimp and scallops with the seasoning they used while grilling were how would one say. TO DIE FOR. Best grilled scallops and shrimp combination I’ve ever eaten.
The atmosphere was terrific. Great place for friends to dine together. Would make a wonderful impression for a first date.
The pricing I believe was very reasonable. Most dinners with a coffee or soda will be $30-40.
Combined the atmosphere, friendly helpful staff and amazing food its woth every penny.

I have been here twice in the last 4-6 weeks
If you like fresh seafood this is a must visit.

Coming from New England, I have a high standard for seafood and this place delivered. Good bread service with warm rolls and butter. The mussels were good but would have liked some butter to dip them with. Seafood tower was great aside from the crab Louie which we weren’t a big fan of. Just go straight for the oysters and shrimp if you decide to. All entrees were great: Walleye, Stuffed Lobster, Lobster Tails, and Crab Cakes. Would come back again. Our server was great too, thanks Scout!!!

Real Seafood Company is a pretty good nicer restaurant! The restaurant is nice and the service was excellent! The food itself is pretty good. I ordered the Jambalaya and it was good – it wasn’t incredible, but it was really good. When I factor in the price, it makes for a pretty good experience! It’s a more pricey restaurant so that always causes me to have higher expectations for the food since it’s costing me more. Overall, really good experience and a great choice for seafood!

Was at Real Seafood Ann Arbor recently and it was excellent! They are very consistent with the quality of their food and service!

Best blackened Swordfish hands down. Good potatoes and good New England Clam Chowder. Great bread! Highly recommend.

Staff always friendly and personable.

This place has been an Ann Arbor Staple for well over 35 years. They have a lovely staff who are very knowledgeable, friendly, and professional.
The drinks are frosty and the service is impeccable. The food comes out fast and in good order with your happiness on the cross hairs.

They treated my friends and me like VIP’s and gave us a dessert to share because a few late ordered dishes took a little more time than expected. They made sure the delay didn’t go unnoticed even though we didn’t and were very accommodating.

The bar was very cozy and made happy hour possible because it is not available on the main floor. I’m sure with the high standards they have kept in motion all this time they will be here in another 35 years.

Thank you Real Seafood and Main Street Ventures;).

Mya K was impeccable & executed each part of our meal effortlessly. The food was superb & well cooked. The steak was perfect & I had the biggest, juiciest piece of crab in all my 35 years of existence. As a person who served at a country club, my experience was that of 6 stars from the hostess to the kitchen & our server. The fluidity of the restaurant was seen & felt all around. You guys should be proud.

Hanna provided good service. The food was disappointing. The clam chowder was salty. We ordered 2 fish dishes. The vegetables on both were burnt. Both were overly salted (to the point one wasn’t edible). One of the fish dishes the fish was raw. Overall, not good. Hopefully, someone will recruit the server someplace else.

This is true fine dining! Very clean professional restaurant. Service was excellent, down to the visit from the GM.
Each dish served was flavorful and cooked to perfection! Seafood was fresh…crab cakes was not made with a bunch of unnecessary fillers, it was sooo delicious! The salmon was really good as well. They mashed potatoes were just as delicious. The crisp of the rice from my appetizer was really good along with the flavor. We even enjoyed the dessert. As soon as we get back to the area this will be our first stop.

Food was pretty good, not insanely but holy cooooow the kitchen was slowwwww! It took over an hour for our food to come out and I know it’s not the servers fault but I could overhear people mistreating staff left and right because of it (not just customers, either). Dylan was our server and he was absolutely excellent! Sometimes with these places the service is very stiff and scripted, but Dylan felt really personable and was by far the saving grace of the night. So if you want pretty good seafood at a bit of a higher price and excellent service, come here and ask for Dylan.
