You see … while you are sleeping, Real Q’s Pit-Master is up all night, hauling wood from the piles out back (delivered from a local sawmill several days a week), keeping the fire roaring and the coals glowing to slow-cook our pork shoulders so you can experience the freshest, juiciest barbecue anywhere around….

Food had great flavor but there was not much BBQ compared to what I usually get on a plate at other places. Banana pudding was delicious. Dipping sauce was great. I bought a bottle to take home. Hot chips were ok could have used some seasoning of some sort. Staff was super friendly. A bit expensive for the amount of bbq you actually get.

Fair warning do not have them. “Cater” any meal… Said it fed 10 people well only about 2-3 at the most people would have ate and still not have been full smh. For $200 I would never take a gamble like that again that was horrible.. turkey just was meatless so to speak the “banana pudding” came in such a small container not even a pint and they say for 10 people… Y’all should be ashamed of what u turned this restaurant into now. It used to be so good and fresh now I wouldnt feed it to my dog… Take a gamble if you want to. I’m just out of $200 and no one got fed in my family .smh horrible way to keep customers..horrible food as well, it didn’t even look appealing to eat…. Waste of time and money….even got some BBQ but no slaw…. The bbq was badely cut up smh.. total loss for Christmas dinner…..I really date it a 0! Shut it down!!! Pure awful. Let me clear this up… everything meaning the tiny portions we got of BBQ, and “sides” and buns for $200 was definitely a disgrace. The turkey didn’t come from there thankfully…. Such small pietiins for the price..u gave us buns, BBQ, brisket but more buns were eneven needed that was the most of anything oh and the bbq sauce.. And yes it was that nasty restaurant the bag is STILL I my trash can. I came back up there today…. Smh it was definitely not the place in order…that will never happen again…and yes THE TURKEY CAME FROM A GROCERY STORE. BUT THAT WAS NASTY

This was my first time trying Real Q, and I have to say…it’s some of the best BBQ I’ve ever had. Every bite was full of flavor, and the hospitality was just as impressive. From the moment I walked in, I felt genuinely welcomed by the entire staff. You can tell they take pride in both their food and their service. I’ll definitely be back for more Real Q and next time, I’m excited to try something new and make the experience even more unforgettable. Loved the old time BBQ restaurant feel of this place. From the chopped tray, to the hush puppies, fried okra, bbq slaw and hot chips, everything was delicious. I do wish there was alittle more smoke and tang to the meat but I didn’t leave hungry.

On a scale of 1-100, this Q is a 98! It is absolutely, positively wonderful, wonderful barbecue. Sweet and tender with a beautiful smokey taste..A top 5 Q spot in NC!

We have been coming to Real Q since before it was Real Q! It was our half-way drop off point for the grandparents and our pit-stop on the way home to Boone from Greensboro. It is our go to barbecue place and we stop by every time we pass through Winston! Great food, friendly staff, and the best sweet tea around!

Stopped by on a road trip to try Lexington style bbq for the first time and was not disappointed. Chopped bbq, green beans, baked beans, hush puppies, lemon blueberry pound cake were all great. Friendly service as well.
