Traveling and found this place on Google. Good call. Started with the gator bites. A tad over salted but served with a good roumelaude that saved it perfectly. I ordered the BBQ baked potatoe and the spouse got the rib platter. My potato came loaded with meat and a drizzle of cheese. A side of sauce, butter and sour cream, as well as a roll and the side of my choice which was a delicious macaroni and cheese. My husbands rib platter with roasted corn on the cob and mac n cheese was a wonderful meal as well. This is a stop we put in our log for later.

Went for the first time tonight and it was AMAZING everything was delicious standouts for me were fried green tomatoes ribs and the steak and then the red velvet cheesecake cake definitely will be back great service our waitress was nice and efficient without being too helicoptery lol the owner was really great stopped by to meet us could tell he knows his regulars we will definitely be going back and becoming regulars ourselves

What a treasure this place is between Baxley and Hazlehurst! If you’re looking for great food and great service, this is the place. I think they’re only open on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, so check before going. We attended a Bluegrass Festival at the Stagger Lee Music Park and ate here 2 of our 4 nights!
Steaks, Ribs, Cheesy grits, Loaded mashed potatoes, baked beans and NY style cheesecake were all awesome! Highly recommend!

It was a great atmosphere. Not loud like most steak houses. Even though it was a small place it was pretty good find. Our waitress was wonderful. The prices where high and the steak seasoning was different but over all. Suggest if you get the steak add your own salt and pepper to cancel out the sweet seasoning but other wise cooked correctly and very tender. My children enjoyed the chicken tenders and ribs no complaints from them they enjoyed their food.

Be prepared to wait. The last 2 times it took over an hour from the time we were seated to the time we received our food. One visit we were a party of 7 and the other visit we were a party of 16.

We absolutely love the service and food and atmosphere at Ray’s. Very clean, spacious with servers who truly make you feel like the most important customer despite taking care of other tables as well. Travelling from Ontario Canada to say this is always the highlight of our trips to Baxley is an under statement. Best all around, just wish we lived closer so we could eat here more often!

I’ve been here a couple of times in the past. The serving size is just right, however the price is not right for the serving size.
You know how portions at most restaurants are always more than you can eat so you always have leftover’s.
You don’t mind so bad paying $19 to $25 bucks for a meal, well there will be no left overs and you will pay full price.
Disappointed will not be going back.

Took over an hour for our food to arrive after ordering. Everyone in our group did not receive their food at the same time. I ordered French fries with my meal that apparently had been sitting, possibly waiting on the other food to be prepared, and were cold. It was cold in the restaurant and the ceiling fans were on. We asked the server about adjusting the heat and/or turning off the fans. We were told that “only Mr Ray touches the thermostat”. The temp never improved. The staff were nice and the atmosphere was nice.
