New restaurant in Louisville serves Peruvian and Mexican food … I want to say they are in the St Matthews area but I didn’t drive so I do.

The food is so good and our Peruvian friends say they have a good quality. I have tried several dishes here so and liked all of them. Portions are big in my opinion.

Eclectic restaurant with very unique Peruvian dishes. This was a refreshing Latin/Hispanic culinary experience as much of the dishes were new to me and were very meat forward. Many Latin restaurants feel like exact replicas of each other. This one is in its own category and is definitely worth a try!

Peruvian food is finally back in Louisville. Let me tell you, it did not disappoint. This place is SO delicious, and you need to go right now.
So the restaurant offers a full Peruvian and Mexican food menu. You can order from both menus. The only day Peruvian food is off the menu is Monday. Mexican food is served all week long. There is plenty of seating space in the restaurant.
$2.99 margaritas, perfect for dinner and drinks with friends.
So, I can only speak for the Peruvian menu. I tried the Causa Limeña, Leche de Tigre, and Arroz Chaufa. Look the flavor on the food brought me back to peru. Everything tasted freshly made and gourmet. Nothing was greasy or too salty it was perfect.
I literally spent the whole day thinking about this food, and when I could get more.

Portions are big, if you have a smaller appetite you could split with a friend or take it home. Portions are fairly priced in my opinion.

The owner explained the menu to us and was extremely welcoming and kind. Like I said, you can’t sleep on this place. Get up and go eat it. I promise you won’t regret it.

The food was absolutely delicious. We ordered from the Peruvian side of the menu and were very pleased with the freshness and tastiness. The portion sizes are huge so we had plenty to take back home. Very friendly and prompt service. We will be coming back for sure!

Wife & I visited Raymi for dinner on a Wednesday evening. Formerly Cocal, a Mexican restaurant, it has added Peruvian fare while keeping the Mexican menu & decor. I had the Arroz Con Mariscos, a Peruvian seafood paella, with calamari, crab, shrimp, etc. It was delicious! Wife had vegetarian fajitas, also quite tasty. The service was friendly & attentive (more earnest than polished) & our food came out quickly. The music was an incongruous American oldies mix, e.g., CCR, Kiss, Springsteen, & TVs were tuned to a dog show & Spanish language skin care infomercial, which made for an “eclectic” atmosphere perhaps geared to the Happy Hour bar crowd. The real reason to try Raymi is the Peruvian food. It is an interesting & very welcome dining option for the area.
