Ravenstone Abbey was absolutely incredible! The menu has robust food and drink options. My friend and I tried various appetizers and entrees, all delicious. Coming for dinner in December was such a treat!! We got free hot chocolate and they lit the Christmas tree outside Santa even made an appearance. The Christmas decorations were stunning, Sue did an amazing job. The staff were very kind and took care of us. We loved the free pretzels they gave us before the meal! We did not do the axe throwing but will come back another time. I can’t recommend Ravenstone Abbey enough!

Fabulous! Not only was the axe throwing a great time (for my husband, my two adult daughters, and their son-in-laws), but the atmosphere/vibe adds 100% to the mood!!
The mead was a perfect touch too.
Simo was very helpful & super friendly.
We loved it so much that we came back the next day to try out the coffee…
And we ended up eating lunch too!
The food was delicious! And our waitress “J”, was fun, and friendly.
She recognized my daughter from D & D critical role play on you tube which added for fun conversation.
My kids were here to celebrate Christmas and this was truly the highlight of tge weekend! Besides sharing the time together.
I can’t say enough good….
Just….GO THERE!! Time travel back in time.
You won’t be disappointed !

Coming here was such a treat. I’d seen the outside of the building before but never come in.
A group of friends and I came here on a weekday evening for axe throwing and drinks and had a fantastic time.
The vibe is immaculate and the building is super neat and quixotic. The medieval theme runs deep and all of the decor and lighting feels straight out of the middle ages.
The owner is friendly and he was the perfect amount of instructional with the novice members in our axe throwing group without being micro-managing.
I had the Lemon Ginger Zyn Turmeric drink and the mediterranean grilled cheese, and both were fantastic.
Such an awesome gem in the middle of a relatively average area of the state.
Will definitely be back!

My wife and I stopped at Ravenstone Abbey in Coleraine, MN during an e-bike ride from Grand Rapids along the beautiful Mesabi Trail — and WOW, what an experience!

We ordered the Smoked Hungarian Ham & Gouda sandwich with Hungarian chicken & mushroom soup, plus a hibiscus tea, a jasmine blackberry tea, and pretzel bites with beer cheese. Every bite and sip was outstanding — the flavors were rich, fresh, and truly unique. The Smoked Hungarian ham (sourced from a butcher in Connecticut) elevated the sandwich to something unforgettable, and the prices were shockingly reasonable for the quality. This meal exceeded all expectations!

The atmosphere is like stepping straight into the Middle Ages. Between the authentic knight’s armor, axe throwing area, boar’s head, and carefully thought-out décor, you really feel immersed in another time and place.

We also had the pleasure of meeting Joseph, the owner who is originally from Hungary — such a welcoming and friendly host with a personality that perfectly matches the vibe of the Abbey. Our servers, Emily and Riley, were equally amazing: warm, attentive, and made us feel right at home.

From start to finish, this was a top-tier experience. If we could give Ravenstone Abbey 10 stars, we absolutely would. Do yourself a favor — stop in, enjoy the food, soak up the atmosphere, and meet the incredible people who make this place what it is. We’ll definitely be back!

The food was amazing! We had great conversation with the wait staff and Alex. Alex did a great job coaching us for the ax throwing and it was a lot of fun! A great way to spend an evening!

This place was a hidden gem the bread bowl soup was absolutely phenomenal. The stuffed mushrooms my friend got were scrumptious also. Actually all the foodon the menu looks really good along with their drink selection. The first Sunday of every month they serve their Hungarian goulash which looks good as well. They also have an area where you throw axes and a coffee/tea area as well. Highly recommend if you get the chance to go here to stop in.

We love this place!! Our first time at Ravenstone Abbey was in the winter for lunch and the sandwiches on the menu were the best we’ve had in long time. We went back recently with a group of 7 of us for axe throwing. We had so much fun!! A couple of us had thrown before but for most of our group it was their first time. Our axe coach was great and the drink selection and presentation was top notch. We will definitely be back again, such a great atmosphere in Coleraine, MN. Highly recommend for the food & drinks or a great axe throwing experience! Such a beautiful building- so much attention to detail in the creation of this unique location with medieval theme!!

I was so impressed with the atmosphere. I was in charge of 4 kids 6 and under while 8 friends threw axes. I was able to keep the kids in a safe area while viewing the ax throwing. The kids loved the atmosphere. We had an antique long bench to display the bag of activities/toys I brought for the the kids.

Came here for a meet up with girlfriends and had a blast. We were the only ones as we arrived at around 1pm and didn’t realize they were temporarily closing at 2pm then reopening at 5pm. Their menu is fairly simple with a sandwich section, desserts, soups , student menu, breakfast sandwiches, and a whole page dedicated to beverages.

I got to chat with the owner for a bit and she was absolutely lovely. I was curious about their Walnut Roll – Hungarian ‘Diós Bejgli’ dish I saw on the menu and she explained it’s because her husband is from Hungary. The whole place’s design is very well and make sure to keep your eye out as there are little cool details all around.

They’ve got axe throwing with professionals that will guide you through and I wanted to go but unfortunately timing didn’t work out but I definitely would recommend other people to check into that if they’re interested and will try my luck the next time I come.

The coffee is excellent. The food is delicious. The vibes are unmatched – think Edgar Allen Poe meets trendy, but authentic hangout. You can tell Ravenstone is run with love and attention to detail. Go for breakfast! Go for axe throwing! Just go. You’ll love everything about it. ‍⬛❤️
