We arrived for breakfast around 10:30 a.m. as a party of four and were told the wait would be about 15 minutes. We ended up waiting over an hour. That was just the beginning.
Once we were finally seated and placed our order, the food took an incredibly long time to come out. The coffee we were served was extremely cold. We had to flag down a waiter just to ask for a cup, and instead of bringing a simple empty cup like we requested, he brought one filled with ice. We repeatedly clarified that we just needed a cup, but he never corrected it. Eventually, I had to get up myself, walk to the bar, and grab my own cup and straw because the service was practically nonexistent.
To make matters worse, I ordered mixed beef and chicken fajitas. What arrived looked like a plate of onions and vegetables with barely any meat. It was completely misleading and honestly unacceptable.
This was by far the worst food and service we have ever received. Extremely disappointing from start to finish.
I ordered the Machaca Con Huevos and from the picture you can tell it was pretty impressive. The mixture of peppers, onion and egg was just right with a generous portion of Machaca mixed in. The flour tortillas that came with the meal were very thin and I was suspicious whether they would hold up to the task, but their elasticity and strength were epic. The tortillas definitely rate in my top 10 as best tortillas. They add a perfect amount of starch without overpowering the meal and their functionality, holding food, was up to the task.
The coffee was also good and got me going for my day.
The staff was very helpful. I was greeted when I walked in and my server, Mara, took me back almost immediately. She got my drink order and took my food order when she served my drinks. She was personable and conversational, but she also left me in peace to eat my meal. Before the end of my meal she offered to top off my drink and her service was very good.
The atmosphere is what I was looking for. This is very much a local family-owned business. I was looking for a place to take me back home to Texas and it did just that. The food was a little different, but as stated above, the experience was amazing. It helped that my server was wearing a Dallas Cowboys jersey.
There is plenty of seating so big crowds is welcomed and they have a variety of food from breakfast combos Mexican and American, soups like menuso and shrimp soup, Plus typical steak dinners as well.
There is also a bar so you have your many beers on tap and mixed drinks.
The food was good. It’s a great local try!
Our server did a great job, and the food came out all at once yet somehow still hot! It tasted great too.
Definitely a gem.
