Rasoi Indian Kitchen

Social Profile:

In 2011, when they were both teenagers, brothers Jas and Suki Kullar opened Rasoi Indian Kitchen in Pontlliw on the site of an old pub. From the start, they decided they wanted to provide Swansea with something different, authentic but modern Indian food with a twist. The brothers drew inspiration from tried and tested old family recipes passed down through the generations but wanted to add a modern palette and flavours. With fond memories from summers spent in Punjab while growing up, visiting family members and experiencing all of the many different flavours, smells and electric atmosphere of the street markets and wanting to incorporate the same excited buzz; the vision and direction of their restaurant started to come to life.

Plush fabrics and Indian artefacts adorn this sleek restaurant for a modern take on classic curries.

Food is good, portions are small, prices are high.

Service is pretty bad, you have to play hunt to waiter to actually order a drink – they are definitely not proactive.

Takes an age to get your food order in, but the kitchen turns it around really quickly which is nice.

Don’t expect your table to be cleared after you’ve eaten, one or two things will be cleared if you are lucky.
For context visit was midweek and the restaurant had about 3 or 4 tables in use.

✨ Multi-award-winning Indian food in a tiny Welsh village ✨

Rasoi isn’t just another Indian restaurant — it’s one of Wales’ most celebrated dining spots. A stunning, modern venue with flawless service, and food that proves exactly why they’ve collected so many awards. Every dish we tried was fantastic.

Passionfruit & Mango Margherita Mocktail: sweet, tangy, and the perfect start
Poppadums with chutney trays: crisp, colourful, and fresh

✨ Starters
Onion Bhaji: light, crisp, not greasy
Dahl Puri: delicate, flavour-packed bites
️ Chilli Chicken: bold, spicy, totally addictive
Lamb Bao: pillowy buns with rich, tender lamb

Mains
Butter Chicken: creamy, indulgent, comfort in a bowl
Chicken Tikka Masala: rich, aromatic, perfectly balanced
️ Chicken Jalfrezi: a kick of heat with layers of flavour
Chicken Tikka Shashlik: smoky, sizzling, chargrilled goodness

Sides
Mushroom Rice: earthy and fragrant
Keema Rice: savoury and satisfying
Peshwari Naan: sweet, nutty, and soft
Keema Naan: filled and hearty
Masala Chips: spicy, crispy comfort

Kids dish: Butter chicken with pilau rice and a warm garlic & coriander naan – creamy, mild, and perfect for little foodies

Desserts
Gulab Jamun with Ice Cream: warm, syrupy indulgence
Lotus Biscoff Cheesecake: creamy with that iconic crunch

And the value is unbeatable:
2 courses for £18.95
3 courses for £22.95
Lunch deal: main + side for just £10!

✨ Award-winning flavours, a beautiful setting, and standout service — Rasoi truly has it all

Absolutely gorgeous. I will be returning. From the moment you walk in until the moment you leave, everything is taken care of by the staff. Friendly & polite Food was out of this world & the cocktails were amazing. Freshly made If I had one complaint, it would be, where’s my after eight mint afterwards

We recently visited here and I wanted to leave a review about the service we received.
As a mum of a newborn baby (9 days) we called to see if they were busy and if possible to have a table out of the way due to feeding our baby myself.

Upon arrival the kind waiter walked us around the restaurant to see what table I would be more comfortable on, even offering us the private area.

That set the tone for the rest of the evening, great food (although do feel portion sizes are on the small side).
Great service and will definitely return.

Amazing food, I must say, BUT you’d have to be willing to wait much longer than they say.

We ordered from here a couple of evenings ago, phoned up to make an order where the lady said if you order online you get 20% off, great! The website was so buggy it took nearly 20 minutes to order the food to start with…

We turned up for collection – collection time was 6.30, we arrived at 6.15. we did not leave the building with our food until gone 7pm.

In total, from ordering to receiving food it was almost 2 hours. I have never, ever sat in a car as long waiting for food… I’d like to say it was a one off… But every time I collect food from here I need to pack an overnight bag…

The Rasoi is worth a special detour for a memorable lunch, it’s range of Indian dishes includes both traditional favourites and modern reimagining. The service team are great too. It’s a huge place so plenty of space for larger parties, we saw several groups enjoying birthday and anniversary celebrations.

What a great find! Have tried few Indians in this area and this one is firmly on top of our list! Yummy! Have driven past this restaurant many times and it looks so big outside and I always thought it might be looking too big and grand for this area and was afraid that I will be disappointed, but how wrong was I! Entering the building and there is a lovely Tuk Tuk greeting you, nice touch. Waiter was really good and explained the menu and how to order very clearly, which made ordering very easy. Poppadoms and dips were very nice, but £6.40 for 2 of them with sauces seemed a steep in price. Had lamb stew and chicken shashlik for a main, and have to say both were amazing! Best I had for a long time. Aubergine side was also fantastic! We will definitely be coming back, highly recommended!

I love Rasoi. The food is amazing and beautifully presented. Staff and service are top notch. It’s excellent value for money as many would present this type of food at inflated prices. The ambience is the best, the furnishings, the decor, all fuses for a lovely experience.

Had the pleasure of dining here tonight and I must say it was delightful. Customer service was top notch. Our waiter was on point. Food was amazing and very good value for money with 2 courses at £16.99! Bargain! Atmosphere was fab with many people enjoying the evening with family and friends. Restaurant was very modern with Indian touches. Seating extremely comfortable. This will now be our go to Indian from now on!

I really can’t fault the service or the food. I love going back here. Great place for any occasion with or without the kids. The only downfall is the price but everywhere is quite dear.
