We were looking for something local and stumbled upon Rasoi Indian Cuisine on Google. What a wonderful find! From the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted and seated right away. Our server (or perhaps the manager) Johnny took excellent care of us—he was friendly, attentive, and extremely helpful in guiding us through the menu.
Since my spice tolerance has dropped dramatically over time, Johnny made sure all our dishes were “baby mild” —and they still came out bursting with flavor!
We ordered quite a feast:
Gobi Manchurian
Karari Palak Chaat
Pav Bhaji
Coorgi Chicken Masala
Salmon Tikka Masala
Dal Fry
Vegetable Korma
Mango Lassi, Sweet Lassi, and Salty Lassi
Every dish was delicious! My personal favorites were the Gobi Manchurian, with perfectly plump, crispy cauliflower fried to perfection; and the Karari Palak Chaat, featuring the crispiest spinach layered with a lovely balance of sweet and tangy chutneys. The Salmon Tikka Masala was another standout—the salmon was tender and cooked just right, soaking up every bit of that rich, flavorful sauce.
All three lassis were wonderfully refreshing, and to top it off, Johnny surprised us with warm, juicy Gulab Jamuns to celebrate a birthday. They were heavenly—soft, syrupy, and with a delightful hint of cinnamon that made them extra special.
We also had the pleasure of meeting the owner, who was just as kind and gracious. We complimented him on what was truly a fantastic dining experience.
If you’re craving authentic, flavorful Indian food served with genuine hospitality, Rasoi Indian Cuisine is absolutely worth a visit. They also offer carryout and catering, perfect for when you want great Indian food at home or for an event.
Stopped by here for a late lunch for two at 3pm and we were the only ones in the restaurant. We ordered Chicken Malai Tikka, Lamb Seekh Kabob and Pistachio Malai Kofta. Excellent preparation on all three dishes. Kofta was slightly cold on the inside so had to send it back to be reheated but it didn’t take too long. The naan and Tandoori Paratha were piping hot and delicious. Our server, Johnny, was cheerful and delighted to serve us.
All in all, a very good meal. This one is definitely the one I must go back to and try some of their other dishes. Convenient location with nearby parking lots as well as paid street parking. Close to Metro.
The lamb biryani is overly heavy on curry/masala and not properly balanced with rice. The achari chicken is good, but I’m not sure why they pair it with naan. When I asked for rice instead, they charged me an extra $4 (perhaps I wasn’t explicit about replacing the naan—my mistake). The pav bhaji is decent but doesn’t beat other restaurants like Bansari.
Overall, I’d rate it no more than 6/10.
Also this is the first time I am seeing on bill – total paid with cash & total paid with card. There is almost $2.5 difference. Not sure if this is casual thing to see on bill.
I hope they take this feedback constructively and make improvements. If my review seems harsh, please understand that the food simply didn’t suit my palate
